Hmmm you know I notice something similar to the wedding scene. In Cynthia’s scene of the Wizard and I, just like in the wedding scene there are yellow butterflies in the BG. I think it symbolizes that what they dream is not what they realize and get in the end. For example, Elphaba dreams of working together with the Wizard but to find out he’s responsible for what’s happened to the animals. As for Glinda she dreams of her life with Fiyero even surprising him with an engagement but does not end up with him as she realizes he loves Elphaba and not her

Glinda doesn’t plot in killing Nessa rose in the book or play. She’s left out of the real plot the Wizard and Morrible make. She thinks that they’re just trying to lure Elphaba out and no harm will come to Nessa but then the house falls on her and Glinda starts to realize what’s actually going on.

Perhaps it could be a wedding rehearsal scene, or Glinda posing for press images to invite Ozians to the wedding? Imagine Fiyero not knowing that Glinda announced an engagement to the press and finding out about it while training with the guards (aka looking for Elphaba undercover). That would immediately create more tension while remaining true to the stage show!

My first thought when I saw it was that it's a dream or fantasy. They've released pictures of the scene that appears to be "Thank Goodness," and she's wearing a blue/purple dress in that one. I know they're going to have to add a lot more to the second act to make it into an entire movie, but I don't know if they'll go with an actual wedding. As you said, it's not in the musical and it's definitely not in the book since Fiyero is married to someone else entirely.

Maybe it's a dream...idk. Although i agree Elphaba and Glinda's relationship is the strongest and most important relationship in the musical(that's obvious)i wouldn't call her relationship with Fiyero a sub-plot. maybe in the first act, but in the second act her feelings for him are really important cause they are the reason behind two major decisions she makes, that pretty much change her life. Their bond is understimated but it also impacted Elphaba's life and destiny.

They don’t fight though. Fiyero leaves Glinda for Elphie, but they never had an argument about it nor was Elphie trying to steal Fiyero - it was Fiyero who decided to come with her. Glinda loved the image of Fiyero, not Fiyero. Fiyero loved Elphie and Elphie (genuinely, unlike Glinda) loved him so of course it makes sense for them to end together. Glinda is of course hurt but only because her finance left her. Aside from one snarky comment, she doesn’t blame anyone. I’m sure she wouldn’t even have minded these two ending up together if the circumstances were different. She accepted that they truly love each other.
