It may seem strange but out of all players at this event, i really thought ESAM was the most likely to beat Nairo. ESAM that kind of player who does not seem that good against some high level players, but when he fight against the bests he looks TOP 10 in the world. I think Nairo gonna do a very good loser run tho :p

The the opposite of Esams problem. He's way better agaisnt top players. He's the top player most likely to get cheesed by some matchup with a weaker character that he doesn't know, or some player he's never fought before that he can't read as well. But agaisnt top players he does significantly better. He's only really having a problem with Samsora. If he didn't choke against weaker players for the last while he would probably be considered somewhere in the top 5 with his record agaisnt the rest of them. Armada has said several times: Esam plays way better agaisnt top players, but for some reason he still does the lower level thing of playing worse agaisnt worse players. If he can get over that he can be one of the best players in the world.

@@danielnesbit6177 if you are playing online I totally get that. often times it feels like he auto combo's he even gets an extra fair because a few frames of lag. One think I have noticed that can really mess with Pikachu players online is just doing quick jabs it interrupts their flow and can lead into you taking tempo away from them. if you can manage to stay in the neutral ground he's not too bad. it's getting back on the ledge which is a real nightmare because it's easy for him to reset and get a few guaranteed setups

Punish quick attacks. As a Pikachu myself, quick attacks and T-jolts are what get me killed most.

You have to learn to be patient out of shield and pick your opening. Pika has no practical shield breaking moves so that's never a threat. Also T jolt is punishable with good timing. Plus pika has to commit hard for on stage kill options and go for landing nairs or raw smashes. Source: Pika main
