man, this is real madness! I've never written comments to anyone, but I just have to support you. I'm trying to write similar music with an admixture of heavy metal and your channel is just a godsend for me, I found a lot of interesting things in your setup. thank you so much!

This was just so amazing to read! Pardon the late reply, 'cause wow, you made my month. Genre-busting musicians like you are exactly why I love putting out this kind of information. I really am looking forward to taking things further with additional guitar mods and new crazy pedal combinations, so it's my great pleasure to help and thank you for the support!

I was just looking for a demo of this glitchy pedal and this makes it look worth it. Cool playing tricks.

Hey David! I bought a csidman since a few days and is great, but maybe it will not be my definitive glitch pedal. The csidman sounds very useful in the context of how you use it, so congratulations :D
@GreenhamGuitar Жыл бұрын
Oh cool! And thanks! The way you use the Korg AX1G and that Digidelay, you already know how to make 'em your glitch 😅 And you're right about the context - It sprinkles in a few glitch edits here and there when you want to just add some flare. Then again, the Csidman's a feedback generator from Hell as well! So you'll always find a place for it. Anyway, I know we'd both love that Meris Ottobit Jr!

@@GreenhamGuitar ahh thank you! sisisi, the feedback on the csidman can be chaotic. I vaguely gave a listen to the ottobit, i'm gonna watch some demos, thank youu

Hey man truly amazing what you do. You almost make it look easy. Love your skills and performance. Have you tried to throw an oc3 on the poly mode? I have my bass sound come from an oc3 with a compressor in the front. (Otherwise sounds weak). Not trying to be a smartass here and your music is already polyphonic enough. Just an idea. Watched most if not all of your available videos on yt, not sure if I missed smth, but how about a song where you play and sing? Cheers brother.
@GreenhamGuitar3 жыл бұрын
Wow! Honestly, I appreciate that so much, because it has taken a looooong time for it to feel remotely natural to me. As for your suggestion - it's ingenious! And... I do in fact do that! 😃 Also, with a compressor like you, for punch and to prevent volume spikes. Although in this specific demo, the bass comes from my SY300 filtered until nothing but subbass remains, so you'll need headphones to hear it. Nowadays I use the OC3 and a comp like you because it frees up one of the 3 oscillators within the SY300 for other synthy stuff. I am DESPERATE for the OC5 to hit South African shores! It has genuine low-note-priority in chords, as you prob'ly know. I'm keen to sing more and discuss the limits of the setup soon, and thanks for even wanting more genuine songs. You've watched my earlier song videos and left awesome comments, so thank you! And thanks for this. More ideas the better - Keep 'em coming!

Do you have piezo pick ups for each string or something? this sounds super bizarre/next level weird. I have overlooked this pedal in the past because I was accustomed to the Hologram Infinite Jets and it's glitch effect. This one is by far superior.
@GreenhamGuitar4 жыл бұрын
It is a crazy sound! It actually gets out of hand pretty quick, so I would have liked to put a comp/limiter after to keep the feedback consistent, but at lower settings it is fine. The CSIDMAN interacts with how you play to some extent, but I can't imagine how it tried to interact with blatant drum beats, since it wasn't built for this purpose. It is a really underrated pedal, but I love glitches and couldn't quite afford the Infinite Jets. As for the pickups - just ordinary single coils. I have duplicated the guitar signal and one is sent to set off the hi-hats. The rest goes into a BOSS SY300 which also duplicates the signal and feeds internal oscillators and reverbs and stuff... Very cool!
@DirectingSven4 жыл бұрын
@@GreenhamGuitar have you tried running this through a looper/mixer and multi instruments? This could be the next level of looping.
@DirectingSven4 жыл бұрын
basically, if you have this at the end of the signal chain to affect the loop or bypass it.
@DirectingSven4 жыл бұрын
you could potentially ground the signal chain through a simple passive mixer.
@GreenhamGuitar4 жыл бұрын
@@DirectingSven @DirectingSven Great suggestions! Got any videos of your rig? I actually do run it into a small 4ch 9v mixer - Controlling the volume of the drums, bass synth, guitar and vocals respectively. Used to use a looper for this purpose, but only could mix 2/3 channels that way, and I didn't want to layer loops or worry about even more complications since I operate pedals and make beats already while singing. My RAM is fully utilised, ha ha! :-) My whole style is meant to be simultaneous, so I stick to that as the main novelty of it all. With all that said, I am interested in the Ditto X2 Jam though... it syncs up riffs and leads to an established beat. That could be very useful, even for me.

WARNING: I"m going to be harsh. But that's because I like you. First a complement or two...You've been able to map the guitar quite well. The sounds are great!!! HOWEVER... your drum timing is really bad. It wouldn't be fair if I didn't offer suggestions on how to improve this. (Background: I'm a producer, a pianist and a drummer...) So here is how you become the coolest thing in DubStep. You've got to start with rock solid timing. I'm going to prescribe three exercises that will each sound insane do them and' you're on your way to being an international hit. Don't and you'll just be a guy with a Frankenstein guitar. (Sound ominous I know, but I've been teaching rhythm for years. This is the missing ingredient for you...) 1) In order to improve timing you have to practice being BORED. Yes you heard me right. The trick to great drumming is finding beauty in the mundane boring repetitive beat. So here is the exercise. NO FILLS 20 minutes straight of the same beat. Play chords and melody on top if you want. But the goal is to make the beat as even as possible. It will be very boring long before it becomes beautiful. But once you find that beat it will feel like another dimension of reality. 2) Find a metronome and listen to it for hours. Start at about 80 bpm and slow it down. Work until you can clap consistently at 40 BPM. Some of the best drummers in the world can't stay on time below 70bpm. If you get below 60bpm you will have pretty good timing. This will also be extremely boring before it is profitable. But the end result will be magic - I promise. 3) Half speed. I know I keep talking about slow. The reason is both muscle memory and extreme consciousness. That is the joy of precision that session drummer share. It's not the monster licks, it's the recovery from doing animal vomit and dropping the beat only to take it back up again stronger. That is hard to do. Practice everything half speed until you can't stand it anymore. Then play it twice speed until you almost go crazy. Then go back and play it normal speed. You will be amazed at what this can do for you. It will take you from being a mediocre musician who can't play with anyone to someone who is the anchor of the beat. This will empower you to play stadiums and keep the crowd bouncing. I applaud what you are doing trying to put live performance back into DubStep. I believe that with some hard work you can rival the top DJs today. Blessings on your quest.
