This definitely needs to return. I am not too knowledgeable of Assembly, but it's fun to see how these games used to be written and made. The idea of tricking the game into using the poison debuff to decrement the warp data is fucking mind boggling. Like I KINDA get it, but the fact that that's the effect is amazing to me :D

I believe the reason as to why only certain warps work with DDG is: When in an area, its warp data is copied into a place in memory (like: Warp 1, warps to place X, located at XY; Warp 2, warps to place Y, located at XZ). The byte where the destination of warp number X (like rival's door or dept. store right door) is copied to, happens to be the byte that decreases due to the glitch.

I don't know _why_ it works, but I know _how_ to use it. If you kill enough enemies, and then enter the doghouse from clipping through the fence, it sends you to a random indoor/dungeon area. This means killing 1 enemy, you go somewhere else than if you kill 2. There's likely a guide somewhere on how to use the wrongwarp to beat the game early, but I haven't bothered to look

This is very interesting in terms of what it means for the warp tiles. So there'd be one tile per map going off of the global variable which is updated by which map you're in, which points to that being originally how all doors would work, perhaps a remnant from an earlier build or from testing or something. However because all doors cannot work like that, because different doors need to take you to different places, all but one in every location would have to update the variable, but for one door per map it was fine to leave it as is. That's a very interesting corner to cut, as it doesn't seem to serve much purpose. Makes you wonder why they did it, huh?

+Daniel M. L. I think it has something to do with being able to clip into the wall and enter the dog house from the back, which is not supposed to happen, so the game freaks out. That's is a huge simplification, and is probably wrong, so I'd love to see a vid on that, too!

For example on my play through I tried the glitch and in the glitched dimension I opened a chest that soft locked me way later in the game at Eagles Tower since I was supposed to hookshot to the disappeared chest. I’d really just want to see why the game does what it does.

The reason this only works with specific warps is that you're changing the destination of one particular warp tile. Of course the map can have many warps.
