19:58 I love how "Your New Home" goes in tandem with Pomni's train of thought at the dinner table. At first, it's slow, a bit muted, reflecting her introspection on what the hell just happened, until eventually it builds up to the climax. The leimotif gets louder, the music swells, Pomni finally realizes the gravity of her situation. This IS her new home. The first hit is loud but the music's still gradually building up again as the thought dwells on her. The final chorus is Pomni accepting this new reality, an acceptance met with reluctance, slight insanity, and a smile, which the void returns happily. Even the OST had this much detail put into it. I can't wait to see all the new episodes GLITCH and goose has cooking in the background.

It's not as uncommon as you'd think. The original composers of the Thomas The Tank Engine show in the 80's/90's Re-used themes all the time but tweaked them a bit per season to match each season's vibe, the tone or mood of a scene, & or as each character's maturity changed for each said season. That was the point I felt true horror in the story. Not for the characters being in danger but just being unable to leave something so unnatural. It never felt like they could really die, yet there was threat of abstraction. Which is implied is both painful and your mental breaking point. And that, coupled with madness, was the main threat. But pomnis realization mixing so ominously with the music is amazing. The music is fun, then the chords change. They feel strained and higher. Like a wire about to snap.

I know “Your New Home” is already a fan favorite, but I just love the carnival fanfare of it that you hear from older Disney movies along with an underlying distortion that feels unnatural and unnerving. It’s like a cementing sense of dread that comes in from the story, that yes, these characters are trapped in a digital world for an unknown amount of time, possibly forever, and that’s a spectacle.

I love that up until Kaufmo (both in the episode and in the soundtrack), everything seems mostly fine, but upon opening that door, it all begins falling apart. even without the context for the music that the pilot provides, you can feel this progression, the sudden shift in how everything sounds and feels. then at the end, after the dramatics, after the tension, caine suddenly just steps in and tries to defuse everything. but of course, we know now it's all a facade, and that shows in the music too.

What I gathered from this piece too, Going Nowhere Was how actually natural the strings felt, with the choir on top. As if teasing escape back to the real world, an actual exit And then the music turns sour, you feel suddenly off about it. Then it stops pretty much mid-bar, leaving you to realise there is no escape from the digital world with the change of scene to Caine and Bubble.

Everyone's pointing out Your New Home for good reason - it's such a memorable and well-crafted reprise of the main theme and contrasts so well with the bleakness of the ending. But I also love Evan's work on Going Nowhere and Wrong Doors - they have such a grand and cinematic feel with just the right amount of unease bubbling underneath. Many people like me LOVE ‘Your New Home’, it sounds so wrong, yet so right at the same time, the feeling of no return and being trapped in a game forever, it’s a lot for Pomni to take in. The fact that it feels like a whole instrumental of the theme but has a whole encore to really encapsulate that dread and insanity coming off from Pomni is just incredible!1!1!1!!! The song really matched the ending scene and I’m so glad to have tuned in for the premiere. People won’t understand this song if they don’t acknowledge what’s happening to Pomni or if they don’t feel what Pomni was feeling at that moment.

Honestly, these themes bring a huge sense of anemoia to them. Despite not having heard these themes until the pilot, i feel as though i've been listening to them ever since my childhood. I love how you can hear the effort and whimsy they try to put in each of the tracks! My personal favorite is the end theme because it puts into perspective you aren’t getting out anytime soon so try to enjoy you time here without being discreet about it.

"Your New Home" is a great song and a fan favourite, but personally I think all of these songs need more love. All of them have their own odd soundscapes and manage to give off a very nostalgic atmosphere, before revealing more organic instruments when something is lurking behind the curtains. Incredible direction of music.

I personally see Your New Home as a panic attack anthem if anything, I saw a comment that described it as something that would play at the end of the world, and that’s what panic attacks feel like. That’s what I saw in the pilot episode itself, with Pomni and how she was always on the verge of going insane. Whether it was intentional or not, I feel that the Amazing Digital Circus represented the feeling of severe anxiety and trauma perfectly and I’m extremely grateful for that, as someone who struggles with both on a daily basis.
