@@naptimecreations question for you. I tried your way with the glitter. The first time I did it before not trying your way but my coasters came out sticky maybe because I didn’t mix it well or was off by a couple ounces of one of the mixtures. I then tried it last night measuring carefully, and it didn’t come out sticky, but it’s rough on the top from the glitter. Did I put too much glitter in?

Was hoping you would do something with the cellophane, as it can cause a holographic effect. I could see it in the sunlight, as well as inside, and the reaction was gorgeous! Adding these opal glitters on the list to get, because I admit it freely, I am a glitter addict, but glitter adds so much depth to a resin piece, it can also be used as a colorant in it's own special way. I need to stop procrastinating on finishing the Ukraine yellow and blue rose I am working on, it's just on the tedious side as I have to do the yellow resin on the edges first, then I can add the blue resin in the center. Will send you an email of the finished project as well as a few of my other pieces I have done.
@naptimecreations2 жыл бұрын
That sounds like a really pretty project. Can't wait to see it 💙🤗 I know what you mean 100% I'm a glitter addict too. I just bought a bunch of new colors from my friends shop. Thanks for watching 🤗💟🦄 I can't wait to try this some more with different colors 😍

They’re really pretty! My hubby and I just did a table top pour on our nightstands. We used your technique of a base layer of glitter.. only we just added a small amount of holographic mini maple 🍁 leaves and fine holographic red/orange glitter, instead of the larger glitter. Then we used bronze, copper, rose gold, burgundy and vibrant copper mica’s in a marbling effect. Also adding Marabu’s dark reds & glitter alcohol inks, blended it all with the blow dryer.. it had a stronger airflow than my heat gun. We did 4 pours in all, topping it off with a clear layer. They turned out amazing! I couldn’t be happier with them and I’m really hard to please when it comes to my work!😂 I just wanted to tell you thank you for your tutorial! I wouldn’t have thought to add alcohol inks to this technique without you showing me that and that detail really just made it look so great! The maple 🍁 leaves just peek through here and there with a sparkle and the 2 layers on top of them give it a wonderful 3D effect. Thanks again!

Awe that sounds amazing and so pretty. I'm so glad to hear you gave it a try. I bet they're gorgeous. It's such a great technique. I know it has tons of awesome depth too with all the layers you added. What a great idea to do tables, I'll have to try that one of these days. I did a table for my mom a long time ago. Maybe I should take it back and do another layer for her. That technique is perfect for tables 🤩 thank you 🤗💜🌸
@funo65812 жыл бұрын
@@naptimecreations It was a first time table top for me and my hubby hasn’t ever done resin before this. He did a really great job. If you decide to do more layers on your Moms table I’m sure it’ll turn out great! I learned a couple of pointers from Stone Coat epoxy Utube channel. We used their epoxy because it’s made to be durable for countertops and it good for up to 450 degrees when fully cured. One tip is to create a dam with 4 layers of masking tape around the outer edge, use a vvvvv bottom edge trowel to even out the resin. Let it cure for 2-3 hours then pull the tape off in a downward motion. That gives it a nice edge. Then run your finger around it a few times to even out the drips. I’ll see if I can post a link to that video. Thanks again! We couldn’t have done it without you!

They're so pretty! Question...what is your preferred resin for coasters? I'm needing to order more soon.
@naptimecreations2 жыл бұрын
Thank you 🤗 😊 💓 I need to make some more like this soon. They're so pretty in person. I like TotalBoat TableTop epoxy or TotalBoat high performance epoxy with the slow hardner for coasters. The high performance epoxy is a 2 to 1 ratio and it has 3 speeds of hardner you can choose from. Fast, medium and slow. I like the slow. It makes really pretty flower coasters and it's great for pretty much all coaster techniques. Their tabletop epoxy is great too but it's a thicker viscosity so it can have more bubbles. Which isn't too big of a deal as long as you aren't making a lot of projects with clear. Here's the link to them if you want to check them out.
