Tish I love the clear holographic coaster. It is very beautiful. The blue does not show the different colors as well but it looks nice. Thanks for sharing a tutorial on making your own mold. Hi, they turned out great. You should maybe use a coaster and put the film on them & then make a silicone out of it the holographic effect should transfer to the silicone & then when casting it in resin it should transfer as well from the silicone mould to the resin

Thanks for watching, the holographic is actually a micro texture and the resin takes on the holographic micro texture as it dries. Making your resin creation holographic

No, I haven't tried that. I like to use the 100% silicone caulk

wow ! so you did not cut the window film and insert it into the poured the resin ? so neat the reflections are so colorful i love it!

Thanks so much Rose 🌹 nope I didn't insert it into the poured resin. I just made my silicone mold with the 100% silicone caulk right on top of the rainbow side of the film and poured the resin directly onto the film. You can resuse the film over and over too. The rainbow pattern stays on the film 🤗🌈

Thanks for watching 🤗🌈 the film turns cloudy or your coaster is cloudy? If it's your coaster it might be your resin. I like using the gencrafts resin for projects like this because it is super clear and has hardly any bubbles.

How does the holographic transfer into the resin? I wonder if it would transfer on to silicone too and from the silicone to the resin

Thanks for watching, the resin takes on the imprint of the holographic window cling film. It's magic 😊 There is a mold maker on Instagram that is going to release molds with this effect transfered into the actual silicone mold. It's @juliart84 on Instagram. Definitely check her out if you can. She said she has been working on getting this effect to transfer into a mold for over a year. I guess it was very difficult to do.

Did you get the mold from @juliart84 on Instagram ? Her molds are similar to this but not 100% the same. Definitely try making your own with the 100% silicone caulk they're pretty easy to do and they turn out so pretty 🤗🌈 thanks for watching 🤗

No, but you can to avoid any dust settling on them while the silicone dries.
