I've tried this, the idea is beautiful, but how do you get the shine of the glitter when I put the mid podge on & leave it to dry my finish is hazy & dull. Someone please help.

Hi. Glasses are so beautiful! Is any spray glue ok to use & would the spray glue be from the craft section? Don't want it to be toxic? I know I sound paranoid lol 😂

Hi. Paranoid is good. Especially when it comes to your health! if you are careful to cover the area that you mouth would touch while working with the glues you should be fine. However, if you are still worried, I would just making the glittered section shorter. Maybe only go half way up the glass to ensure it is far away from your mouth.

Thanks! If you use the spray adhesive and then cover it in mod podge, you should be good. If you decide to do what some other folks here have suggested and mix the glitter into the mod podge, then you may want to do a few coats.

Hi Marianne, I used Mod Podge - Dishwasher safe gloss. (www.amazon.com/Mod-Podge-Dishwasher-Waterbase-CS25139/dp/B00J2TJF6A) It says it is "top shelf safe" so you should be ok. I have only hand washed mine. But, that's mostly because I'm one of those weirdo's who hand wash everything. Good luck with your gift!!!

That's a great question! The answer is... You probably don't. ^_^ I think this may have been my first time working with the stuff. Now that I've done (a lot) more crafting I might skip right to the modge podge. Although, I have to say it is much easier for me to get a smooth even coat using the spray. I guess at the end of the day it's up to you what material you feel comfortable with or have lying around the the craft drawer. - Cheers! Stalara

Hi and thank you. Why spray glue? Basically cause I'm lazy. ;-)~ You could 100% just use the mod podge. But, I didn't want to have to wait for multiple coats to dry. SO, I only used it to finish the glasses.

I haven't tried it. But, My guess is this would work fine on plastic flutes. If you cover it with a few layers of mod podge the glitter will be sealed in place and not come off on your hands. ^_^

+LaLaish I've only used them 3 or 4 times. But, they seem to be holding up really well! (No glitter in my mimosa yet! ^_~) I really like the dishwasher safe Mod Podge. I used it on some comic book flutes last year and those things are still looking like new. Just make sure you get a good thick coat to seal the glitter on the glass and you should be good to go! If you try this out I'd love to see a pic!

The bottle claims it is dishwasher safe. I'm not brave enough to have tried it out. But I have hand washed mine with dish soap a dozen or so times and they are holding up great!
