DIY - Wine Glasses

If you use FolkArt Enamels or FolkArt Multi-Surface Paints on glassware and then bake to cure per manufacturer's instructions, glassware is hand washable as well as top shelf dishwasher safe. Also a helpful tip would be to score along the washi tape with a craft knife before removing the tape. Once paint is dried to the glassware as well as to the tape, it will naturally peel away because the acrylic paint dried to a film both over the glassware and the washi, score it first and you can remove the tape easily and no remove the dried paint on the glassware! BINGO!

Use an X-acto knife to cut along the edge of that tape before pulling it off & it won't tear the paint with it. It would be fun to do mandala patterns with those dots!

Old video, I know. But for anyone watching now like me, if you took the tape off immediately after your layers were done it should work better. If anyone has worked with nail vinyls to paint your nails you know. Take it off before everything dries!

No, I didn't. I would suggest being careful when you wash them (make sure to do it by hand!) But they still look nice a year later :)

I'm not sure. I know with markers they suggest you bake it... I also think it may depend on the paint you use. Mine said nothing about baking it...so I didn't! Haha

hi! just did the circle one.I found that I needed up with "points". I tried to flatten them but some came out a little transparent. did u have this issue? thx

That's to bad--sorry to hear! I don't recall having that issue. Maybe you just had too much paint on the pin you were using?

Did you need to put something over the paint for it to stay after using them?

I didn't put anything else on them. I made sure to use paint that is for a glass surface; however, these would not be dishwasher friendly. I am very careful when washing them (just get the inside and rim) so I don't lose my design. It hasn't been a problem!

I didn't... I just hand wash them carefully. It stays on fairly well.

I hand wash the glasses and make sure to not scrub where the paint is. They have held up pretty good in the year I've had them!
