Thank you!!! Perfect tutorial for what I needed to do for my New Year greeting!! One n00b question, when I add the solid layer it hides everything as I'd expect but when I put the effect on that layer everything works (ie. my lower layers are no longer hidden) Is that because of the masking properties of the effect or am I missing something?? Thanks again for your super helpful tutorial!!

No worries, glad you found it useful! If you're new to AE I recommend going through my beginner series here: kzbin.info/aero/PLs2aOcA-EaLN1TwemqyxdjTg2puGtwvkQ The effect itself renders onto the layer, leaving the background transparent - but it all depends on the type of effect

Not specifically, but it's using the same effect with just some different parameters - e.g. negative gravity, different images for the particles, but pretty similar. I have a basic tutorial covering Particle World here that might help: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKOtnaeXptGBrqc

@SurfacedStudio4 жыл бұрын
That's a great idea and I'll keep it in mind :) I can't promise what I might get around to, but I like gathering ideas for a rainy day. Definitely can be done without plugins - have a look at some of the inbuilt distortion effects (and using track mattes to control them)

Happy New Year to you too! Unfortunately I don't have a tutorial for my old intro - it was a lot of hand animated paint splatter elements I created in Photoshop :) It's not hard to create something similar, just needs a bit of patience. The flicker was done with the VideoCopilot 'Twitch' plugin
@dizzard52974 жыл бұрын
For the matte text part I'm a little confused over the birth rate of the particles and the death size of the particles, for some reason I have to ramp it up really high just to get a similar effect to what you're getting. (like a birth rate of 800 and a death size of 5 and even that still doesn't cover the entire area with white)
@SurfacedStudio4 жыл бұрын
It might depend on the size of your composition and the size of your particles. Your settings may vary depending on the scale of everything you used :)

@SurfacedStudio3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately not, at least not without plugins (e.g. kzbin.info/www/bejne/m2eunZKeiNJ7brM). Premiere Pro doesn't really have much VFX/compositing/particle features since it's aimed at video editing. For all the sparkly stuff you'd likely do that in After Effects

@Surfaced Studio Do you know how I can render my videos as a h.264 file in Media Encoder keeping it at a high quality still but it renders like 3 x faster? The rendering takes 15 hours and I want it to be like 5 hours.
@SurfacedStudio4 жыл бұрын
It all depends on how many effects you have applied, the source footage you are using, the length of your composition and the specs of your computer. Reducing the output quality / resolution or using a simpler output format (like mp4) are the best ways to make the rendering process faster. There is no 'magic' fix unfortunately
