They sew the pockets shut so that structured garments keep their shape and not wrinkle to holy hell. Pockets aren’t the only thing that gets sewn shut-vents, lapels, and button-up sleeves can also feature these temporary stitches

was looking for this comment, that kid story is total bs; you can decide upon purchasing the garment if you'd prefer the structured appearance or the functionality of the pockets, I always cut the pockets open bc functionality trumps form for me but if you want the garment to look it's best always you are actually better to leave them sewn shut

Of course she mentions food when talking about why pockets are sewn shut. When she brought that up i envisioned mud, dirt, pretty rocks, flowers etc. she went to caramels and a lollipops. Then later she starts talking about hiding candy bars and snacks. She will never lose weight. Her Mom and sister died young because of obesity related issues, if I was Anna I would do everything to lose weight and not die young too.

NOPE. I know men's sizes are slightly different. But my fiance is either a large or XL. He's 6'1" and 220. There is no way in hell she is only one size bigger than him. Nope. She's not short either. I'm 5'1" so I get that when you're shorter the weight has nowhere to go. But she is a tall girl. She's gotta be closing in on 4XL at least.

The "denim material" aka probably heavy weight canvas, or cotton looked FANTASTIC on her. People don't understand fabric theory nowadays. That heavy fabric doesn't seep into her folds and provides the structure that she doesn't naturally have anymore. It covered the "lumps and bumps" and gave her a much more streamlined look. Thats why people like her need to lose weight. You can't have light cool fabric and the structure needed to not look like 100lbs of fat in a trash bag. The pattern was too busy, but the fabric and cut was perfect for her.

I used to have "top of boot muffins" when my calves were 22". I started following her when she was a real size 20. We're shaped the same- hourglass figure, thick thighs-so I liked her hauls until she messed with my body dysmorphia with her size lies! I really believed I was that huge at 5'4" and 230#, size 16. Fyi, the thing she said about sowing pockets shut is not true. Well, not entirely. The pockets are sown shut to preserve the shape of jackets/coats. Some people even choose not to open them as the garment retains it's shape for longer.

The comment on the sewn shut pockets is typical Anna, since stuffed pockets tend to look cheap and ruin almost every chic outfit, and you don't shove your hands in your pockets if you intent to look classy, many people keep the pockets sewn shut to keep the shape of the garment clean. This is why pockets on jeans are not sewn shut, since you are supposed to use them, but on dresses and classy jackets, the pockets are meant to be details, not storage containers. But Anna screeches every time a garment has pockets, because so practical...

Gosh I love a good awful haul and she did not disappoint. I wish she would work with a company that designs clothes for her shape.
