China is not dependent on western technologies to build their planes,but just as they have done after being blocked from purchasing other western imputs,they'll support already established companies who offer comparable products for each necessary component, i.e. semiconductor, until they're completely replaced with national brands .They'll incorporate those brands until they're self-sufficient just as they have done in every other sector,and the west will be faced with a fully self-sufficient competitor looking to be number 1

As a Chinese, I think COMAC is not in the competition yet, COMAC is just in the first step of the first step. But come on, Boeing you are going backward

Boeing has squandered its reputation for engineering excellence and it doesn't appear that the company is instituting the cultural changes needed to turn around its deteriorating situation.

@@JohnPersinosprobably because the same people and same mentality that drove the previous all for profit and stock price culture are still in charge. I say they need to clean house starting from the board.
