Just as a point of interest, since you mentioned the Azimuthal Equidistant map, that some flerfs treat as their representation of reality, specifically the Gleason map, it is just one of an infinite number of versions of an AE map that you can find online. If you search for, "Azimuthal Map, Anywhere", you'll find a page with an Azimuthal Equidistant map, that can be manipulated in real time, such that any point on Earth can be placed as the center point, with all the land masses morphing into their resulting shapes and relative positions. Interesting to note how these equally accurate variations, can seem to show every type of topography, as well as every body of water as the edge of these equally valid maps. Can't wait for the flerfs to start talking about the Saharan sand wall, lol.

There are websites that can generate a pdf EA map to order, based on any specified location. One I have used is maintained by a radio ham. Why should radio hams care? Because an under-appreciated property of AE maps is that a straight line from the centre to any other point is the great circle route to that point. So it tells them the azimuth they need to point a directional antenna if they are trying to get a signal from a specific location. Propagation of radio waves, seismic waves, the atmospheric shock wave of the Tonga volcano - all confirm the globe.

Oh good point. Many of my books are by ASA. They sent me a free PC sim to evaluate too… the early days of shillery. Good sim… it was called ‘On Top’ www.asa2fly.com/Simulator-Software-W26.aspx

Flurfs gonna glaim you are dropping flares. Because you try to deflect from the fact, that you cannot provide the code for dip correction programmed into the flight computers, without which every airplane would just whizz straight into space :-D

Can you please tell me the reasoning behind flerfs using GOOGLE EARTH to "prove" flatness by measuring distances and elevation on said app? If the google earth is based on the Globe, why believe it? and use it to disprove the said globe? why believe in the GPS satellites that are up due to gravity's effects to disprove the Globe? WHY? Sorry it just chews my brain out sometimes.

Interesting book indeed! Looks like very compact, to-the-core explanations to "get up to speed" fast. But I fear that 99.9% of FEs couldn't get through the first few pages without understanding anything.

It sure would be nice to see people learn something new but it should be clear that some just don’t want to have their beliefs challenged…. Even when it’s clearly demonstrated that those beliefs are flat out wrong. The biggest problem is they attach non related beliefs to those other ones as if it was clearly cause and effect when it is not logically related to the others.

A few years ago, I did a trip form Manchester, England to Calgary, Alberta, Canada. During that flight, we flew over Iceland and Greenland. What is up with this? And could I use my flight path to help debuk flat earthers?
@-Fritz-2 жыл бұрын
A straight line from Manchester to Alberta goes over Greenland. If you load up Google Earth and draw that line, on the globe, you will see it quite clearly.
@Wolfie60202 жыл бұрын
That is similar to one of my most memorable trips. We left Verona Italy for Eagle Colorado and went directly over London, Iceland, Greenland and down through Canada. All in daylight as were following the Sun at high latitude for a while across Greenland.

198 pages of global navigation and only one 10 word sentence about a flat plane. That sentence will keep the flaties happy and harping on about it for another year or two. As the joke goes. "It's in the book."
