There has been global outrage after Iran handed a death sentence to Iranian rapper Toomaj Salehi for supporting protests following the death of Mahsa Amini in 2022. One supporter has told RFE/RL she hopes Tehran will back down to avoid sparking a new wave of mass protests.

People like to consider themselves free which is true in some parts of the world where you can criticize the leadership/government especially when they are doing something wrong but the interesting thing is even people of many countries where you can be imprisoned/murdered/punished for criticizing the government usually have a hard time admitting they are not truly free despite being fully aware they can't criticize their government. Interesting thing is the people always have the power to overthrow any bad leaders or end them on the spot but so many prefer to have their eyes shut and their ears covered when it comes to their government which is what prevents the unity required to toss out horrible leaders, I wish people were less of a sheep then the world would be a good place
