Is the Biden Admin Targeting This Christian University? The Fight Is On

A years-long battle between the largest Christian university in America and the Biden administration is taking a new turn. U.S. Education Secretary Miguel Cardona recently stunned critics by vowing to shut down Grand Canyon University, a popular Arizona-based Christian college.
"We've levied the largest fine in education history against a school that lied to students," Cardona claimed during an April 10 House Appropriations Committee meeting. "We are cracking down on them not only to shut them down but to send a message across the country that you cannot prey on our students and expect to be successful."
Cardona's comments come just months after the Education Department fined the school a historic $37.7 million.

These questions remain.., 🤔 "How many years transpired between the time the University changed from a non-profit to a for-profit status?" And, "How much financial benefit did the university gain from the for-profit status, before they decided it was needful, to go back to their non-profit status? 14 years? 😏 Because if the motivation to go back to being a non-profit, was to simply avoid paying taxes on the incredible financial gains made while retaining a for-profit status? Then it would seem the school knew exactly what they were doing and based the change of status.., primarily on the complete elimination of their $20,000,000 debt, allowing them to solicit capital from the public market thereby positioning itself to become entirely debt free, all while prospering in their for-profit status. Which from the growth of its campuses, it clearly did. While I am a fundamentalist by faith.., & believe there should be a separation of Church and State. I also believe as the Bible says, "Render unto Caesar, that which belongs to Caesar and render unto God that which belongs to God." (Matthew 22:21)

I do think that schools should be looked at in this manner regardless if it is a Christian school or not. A lot of these schools are just looking for money and offering classes that has absolutely nothing to do with finding a job or that will benefit the student in the future. Also, A lot of schools claiming to do God's Will is far from the Will of God. Too many Christians are too blind to see it. Everything that claims to be of God is not. @@billh.1940 I had to sign a contract with the private school that I was doing my last 8 weeks of student teaching at. This contract specified that I would not show any of the students in any manner of photography or identifying them by name. Not sure of the legalities of the school as far as signing contracts had gone, but I was assured by the head master before even starting that GCU had given their assurances for the same. This is standard practice in my state. Not even two weeks into the session, the counselor was trying to make me feel stupid for having gone along with that, though apparently they had too. How could they grade me without me recording the students? The representative harassed the school until they admitted that I had asked about joining their convent and showed the Princeton library website to the class on whiteboard, after teacher approval, of the giants early explorers claimed to have found in South America, as this was the present area of study. In finding this out, I was sent a nasty letter that these things were not allowed, oh yes, the representative had been wrong, but no matter, they started assigning me additional disciplinary courses (costly). I had taken my state test, paid for diploma and everything, but if I didn't keep up with their discipline I would lose everything. Months after, we had a huge snowstorm where electricity had been out for several days, I finally got into my email, discovering that they had assigned me a new school, to start the following Monday. I worked as a Home Health aide, and was unable to find care for my Stage 4 Bone Cancer patient within such a short time and they would not work with me on scheduling whatsoever. I was summarily ejected. My credits, thanks even to GCU 'discipline' for me for their mistake, come to 163 credits with a 3.9 GPA. Tell me they weren't at fault!
