On my first trip to the North Shore of Oahu (I lived on The Big Island ) I padelled out @ Pipe and watched from the channel for a solid week too haired out to take off on a wave. I'm 65 now but I was 50 then. Anyways Kelly paddels up to me and says "Hey bro..are you gonna go on anything"?! Just then a 6 ft. (Hawaiian scale) wave comes right at me (the swell was running maybe 8-10 Hawaiian) deffinately not a set wave but perfect for an old haole boy like me. I dropped in and in a flash I was barraled and got spat out on to the shoulder. My wife was jumping up and down and screaming and waving her arms as if I had just won the Masters!! God bless Slater. A week later I got to play golf with his Highness @ Turtle Bay. What does that have to with Indo, surfing the LEGENDARY Uluwatu you ask? Only that you have captured in STUNNING footage (love drone stuff) my hero and GOAT Kelly Slater.!!! Wouldn't that be something if the old man wins another tittle? I'm rooting for him!!
