Here are the facts. Canada contributes to 1.4% of global emissions. 95% of that 1.4% are companies such as Imperial Oil, and ExxonMobil. Meaning the Canadian People are responsible for 0.07% of global emissions. Yet we pay more tax on emissions that any other countries citizens. If there was gonna be a world leader in the reversal of global warming its not going to be Canada, because over 70% of our land isn't even livable. We don't process any oil, and every car on the roads in Vancouver BC and Toronto ON are Tesla's. What the hell are we doing.

I can confidently say as a young person that is couldn't be further from the truth. I don't want me and our future children to be left a destroyed world. I THINK the Liberals are trying to say that climate change is causing us to lose more money than the carbon tax. The climate changes we are facing are causing devastating fires, floods, etc etc.. increase cost expenditures for municipalities, provinces, and the federal government... aka increased taxes for homeowners and employees....and I sure know it increases my insurance rates. The carbon tax is meant to create an incentive for people to change their habits... I believe this is similar to what they did in European countries. However, unfortunately, while this may be a logical plan, there are individuals who are getting hit by both sides - inability to change their consumption while also facing incresing in costs from climate change. What is sad is that the current government is talking out of both ends and ALSO instilling policies that do nothing for climate change within their own government and with their workforce. Unfortunately, the opposition is also not progressive and suggest changes that would make it affordable for all... because unless you think this is an issue you want your kids or grandkids to deal with (in which it will be too late) we need to be progressive now. It's hard to believe anything any one of the three parties is saying, and if any of them really care for the average person and their family or just being in power and getting credit for ideas. I wish we had a parliament where they could work as a team for the betterment of all Canada... and people would actually vote for the logic behind an idea rather than the party lines. A pipe dream.

No matter what party you support; Canadians across the country need to take a step back and take a look at the state of political discourse in the House of Commons. These are our elected officials whose salaries we pay, who need to be figuring out a way to better Canadians lives, instead they’re more concerned with hurling insults, creating catchphrases and passing the buck. Try and remember a time when you went to work and this sort of behaviour was encouraged with applause This is an embarrassing state of affairs for Canadian politics. They all need to do better.
