He was a tremendous bolt of lightning ⚡ created by mother nature out of thin air, a fantastic combination of power and beauty. We've seen still photographs of lightning ⚡ bolts at the moment of impact, ferocious in its strength, magnificent in its elegance and at the moment of impact it lights up everything around it. So you can see everything clearly. Muhammad Ali struck us at the middle of America's night at the heart of its most gathering storm. His power toppled the mightiest of foes and his tense light shine on America and we were able to see clearly in Justice, Equality, Poverty, Pride, Courage, Laughter, Love, Joy, and Religious Freedom. - Billy Crystal -

What a captivating eulogy! I am in joyous tears and laughter of Billy Crystal's wisdom and humor! +Pirabee Ali did not "dodge" the draft. he stood up to it. Bill Clinton, Mitt Romney, Donald Trump, George W. Bush, etc.... were "dodgers"
@nebur598 жыл бұрын
+Pete Gotthardt no you're wrong about Bush, liberal.
@Kilgoregrolsch8 жыл бұрын
Nebur59 Yes indeed, I am a Liberal and proudly VOLUNTEERED and served in the U.S.Army. I am also proud of Ali for having the courage to stand up to to the heinous draft system. If he had been better connected (and a different color), he might have done the "dodge" of Bush (where your daddy arranges for you to pretend you are in the service); but he chose to address his objection to the war in Vietnam to the U.S. government personally with wisdom and intelligence. His decision cost him dearly, but he never flinched. He was a great human!
@nebur598 жыл бұрын
+Pete Gotthardt I volunteered as well and served proudly during the Vietnam era, although I couldn't admit it then because of all the criticism I would have received. I was never sent to Vietnam (and I'm not white nor rich nor politically connected) just as most of the hundreds of thousands of members of the military who served during that time did not serve in a combat zone. So even though former pres Bush didn't go to Vietnam he didn't dodge the service, he served in the nat guard which is more than you can say for BClinton. It was the liberal leaning main stream media who would have hung Bush if it was true what Dan Rather was reporting about him. I too used to be a liberal until I gained the wisdom to realize that the liberal approach to politics is wrong, not stupid or evil just wrong.

Cassius Clay was the closest thing to a perfect middleweight fighter who happened to be a heavyweight. He outclassed the entire weight division for most of his career. Muhammad Ali was the closest thing the baby boomer generation ever found to a principle. He really was willing, and had to, sacrifice for his beliefs and actions- 4 years of significant sacrifice.
