Honnestly, from a European perspective, you have no idea how the ideas defended by the Republican Party seem terrifying. People like Trump or Pence seem to believe that anyone who criticizes the current American system is a defender of the radical left, and yet they tolerate ideas among their own party that would seem extremist to a vast majority of european far-right leaders. Of course we can rejoice that people like Pence have deeply rooted convictions and aren't afraid to express it, but Republicans, as strongly as they may despise or fear the ideas of the Democrats, should understand that even people like Sanders are not so radical. Sanders goes approximately as far to the left as Sarah Palin goes to the right. And to keep the same constitution since the late 18th Century is a sign of such conservatism that even reformers ought to be radical. Anyway, I used to only feel hate and desprise for Republican values, and then I discovered John Mc Cain. If he had lived in a country where moderate conservative can developp a programm on their own, he would have been an amazing leader

@@Lena-1312 The EU crowd consistently says that the US is too far to the right without understanding that the entirety of the West is too far to the left, and also that America has drifted left from where it once was. If it's a matter of comparison, yes, the US is further right than EU on a number of issues, but if it's a matter of where you ought to be, it's really a matter of perspective. Acting as though the majority has to be correct is a total fallacy. And honestly, I think people from EU typically get a very poor education about US politics. The media heavily polices all information people receive from abroad, so someone from EU ought to be extremely skeptical about making strong claims about anything related to US politics. Biden is a decent human beeing... yes he stands not for the most progressive policys and standpoints, but in exactly that regard you can see, that he is a president who wants to bridge the gap of partisan politics and end the decade of hate Mr. Trump has left us. The reason you don't think bad about President Obama and think bad of President elect Boden is exactly the kind of viciousness that was lacking in the McKain election bid, which has poisoned American politics since Trump ran for president. Don't fall for the language of Trump, there are not two sides which are equally bad. Trump is an authoritarian who runs on a dividing platform against a Man who has devoted his life to bipartisanship. Exactly In the spirit of John McKain!

Noelia Jaime, I’m against attempts at Universal Healthcare as I don’t think Democrats understand the extent to which universal healthcare will impact food policy, the agricultural industry, the pharmaceutical industry, or the insurance industry. Moreover their references to Europe are concerning as I don’t think democrats understand the extent to which European countries interfere and directly manage the health of their citizens, not to mention how small these nations are and the relative size of their various industries. In terms of climate change, well I agree with the scientific research proposing it is real and a threat, I despise the dismay with which democrats regard coal and oil workers as expendable. I mean i don’t think they understand how my father, a coal worker by trade, was expected to give up his livelihood as a miner and go move to a big city, only to become a janitor, in a time where he was supposed to retire. I don’t like unemployment subsidies, as I think democrats are more willing to concentrate on supporting those unemployed than actual building jobs for them to work. As i believe higher taxes drive away business to well Mexico and China. I despise democrats for their willingness to let in illegals, which I cannot understand. I mean we are a nation of laws, how are they so willing to violate them. Either change them or enforce them, you cannot avoid both. That said Trump’s cages are immoral and go against my values. I’m against increasing trade with China, a policy initiated by Democrats in the 90s and supported by Obama (as I was even before Covid), due to the fact that the regime violates democracy, and the rights of man. I could go on for ages.

Me personally, I voted for Obama, I voted for Biden, and I will always be a democrat. However, John McCain in the single republican that, more than any other, I have more respect for than I could ever put into words. I would 100% without any second guessing, vote for McCain over trump any day of the week. Rest In Peace John McCain, an incredible man who deserves to be remembered. As for Arizona, McCain really did get the last laugh.

I was in the UK in June, and I asked several people I met in various places if we could just forget that whole Revolution thing and come back to be part of the British Commonwealth. I said we like your Queen! They all said they'd love to have us. :) I must say, if I didn't have grandchildren I'm rather enamored of, oh, and my own grown kids, I would consider it. Such a beautiful country, and the people are smart and friendly. I visited all four countries, including both parts of Ireland, and I just loved it. Of course, the weather was beautiful. Perhaps I might not like it so much if it were cloudy and rainy all the time. Thank you for your comments here. I just wish we had the same level of leadership we had before. I guess nothing is forever, but with this so-called administration, it sure seems like it.

+Wendy We don't like their queen, and we don't like to be part of Londonistan. We bow to no king or queen. We only bow to God and his son.
@wendyscott84256 жыл бұрын
Speak for yourself, WTF BBQ. I happen to like their Queen myself, and I like their parliamentary system. And your racist comment about London is simply ridiculous. You've obviously never been there. You should try it sometime. You'd find it quite cosmopolitan (or is that a dirty word these days to "conservatives"?) but at the same time very English, naturally. Oh, and btw, I'm not familiar with all British protocol, but I don't think people bow to Queen Elizabeth. At least, I didn't notice anything like that at the wedding I watched a few months ago. You claim to bow to God and his son. Really? Do you think God would appreciate your racist inference about London? But perhaps you don't _read_ the Bible, just worship it like an idol, eh? Did you know there's a verse in there that says God "has made of one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth"? It's in Acts. That does include the Queen. Just sayin'... _And_ all those other brown people you apparently can't abide. If you're going to bow to God and his son, you might pay attention to what they said. It couldn't hurt. BTW, Luke 3:38 says _Adam_ was "the son of God." Makes sense, doesn't it? And since Adam actually means "mankind" in Hebrew (it's in Genesis 5), it looks like we're _all_ God's children. Again, just sayin'...
