By this lapping method it`s impossible to lapping properly, valve will always leak. When you are lapping a face -to-face disc and seat, you should always use a Guide for Valve Seat lapping. Without the Guide, you will just waste your time.

I normally use a thick gasket material cut to OD of bonnet recess. Cut hole in center just big enough for shaft
