So nice! I've been there, in public, it was the last dance in Göreme, Cappadocia, after a whole amazing day with traditional turkish music and dance. Since then, I was coming back in Cappadocia 5 times, and next will be in september. Love Turkey!

Actually horon is anatolian origin, greeks adapted to it when they colonized parts of black sea, later brought it to mainland greece due imigration after collapse of ottoman empire. I dont know if zeibek is turkish of origin though. Greek zeibek is better to be honest, it looks much more meddittirenean and fits greeks well. Turkish horon is better, and horon fits us better.
@suadagokduman56994 жыл бұрын
Facts:It's not 'only' Greek by the way.Every nation who lived in Black Sea has its own "Horon." Armenians from Hamshen,has its own Horon. There are still Greeks who (was) converted to Islam in Black Sea,has its own Horon. Kipchak Turks (the First Turks in Black Sea)has its own Horon. Georgians,has its own Horon. Laz,has its own Horon. There are Cherkess who had to come Black Sea created their own Horon. And Oghuz Turks,created their own horon. Now,in every city,nearly in every village there is different type of Horon. We can't know the type of Horon's origin,because there are a lot of Horon types. From nation to nation,city to city,village go village. For example,Artvin vs. Ordu.Their horon type is soooo different!This is because of the reasons I've listed.

Every city and town in Turkey has very different traditional dances and different traditional costumes. and different foods in every city and town. We also have dances that are much more active than this dance, and we also have dances that are much slower. Türkiye, like a large continent, is a multicultural country with a very rich culture.

Pakistan, ahhhhh, what a superb place in the world, with such beautiful people!! I have just left Pakistan actually & i spent 1 month in Northern Pakistan, spending quality & priceless time, with the native KALASH peoples. Actually, their culture & their music, is somewhat similar to this style of music. They are supposed to be the descendants of Alexander the Great. If so, what an amazing genetic legacy for the KALASH peoples. Many scholars say they're Alexander's descendants, whilst some say, they're not. What i do know is this, they are a combination of South Asian, West Asian, Central Asian & some European ancestry. Not so much, Greek, Macedonian, as many initially believed, or even Middle Eastern. Nonetheless, Amazing really!! Sorry, i know this is the wrong space to be discussing Pakistan, but i'm replying to a person from Pakistan & i am also talking about the KALASH peoples of Pakistan, who's traditional dance style, is somewhat similar to this dance style.

No, my friend! This costume is exactly the same with Greeks of Pontus costume! And the music is similar to Greek Pontian rythm "tik tongias". I am not saying that what we watch in videos is greek dance (obviously it is Turkish), but neighbour folks with different cultures interact with each other, and that exactly happens to their traditional dances! We inspired Turks and Turks inspired us in Pontus territories. But Greek Pontian dances express Greeks grief-they mourn because of losting their homeland and becoming refugees... Kindest regards from Hellas!

To someone who doesn't really know the difference they do look similar. I was thinking that they look like eastern European dances too. Don't get so upset: it is TOTALLY normal that peoples that live close to each other have common cultural traits, EVEN IF they deny it...

Pontiac people are not Macedonian. Macedonian people are the ones from Δράμα, Thessaloniki, Halkidiki, Pella, Katerini etc. Pontiac people have origins from Byzantium and have been born in the Ottoman Empire later Turkey . You should first learn history and geography and then talk about your inexistent folklore tradition.
