I've heard a lot of people having problems with the Gen 4 19 and 17 models, but my personal Gen 4 Glock 19 has only had one failure to go into battery in the over 1500 + rounds I've put through it so far. Its been an extremely reliable pistol , and I would trust my life on it just as much as my CZ P09.

They put .40 G23 recoil assemblies in the 9x19 G19s. Probably just to reduce the number of parts coming off the assembly line. Cheap-asses.

Me and my girl just got a pair of g19 gen 3's. We love them. So simple, so accurate, so easy to clean and 9mm ammo is very affordable and readily available. The Glock 19 is legendary.Probably the most sold Glock.It may seem just plain,no special features,or maybe even boring and outdated......but it works and has YEARS of a track record and reliability behind it.

I started off with the 19 and carried it for 2 years. Then I decided to get a 26. After carrying the 26 for a couple days, I really like it. While th 19 is a fantastic sidearm, this 26 is very comfortable. I purchased two 12 rd mags with the 26 to give it the pinky extension. It's very nice.

I have 19s in both gen 3 and 4. I have carried a 19 for a few years now and I am quite familiar with this firearm. For someone considering a G19, this is one of, if not the best review I have seen on the 19. I can’t think of anything you missed in the review. What’s better than a Glock 19...? Great answer!!

@@connor1982 I shoot both well. Generally, I can pick up just about anything and shoot it well… I'm not a fussy shooter. Nonetheless, I never have, nor will I ever, recommend a particular gun. You can research the differences… changeable grips and more aggressive texturing on the Gen 4, with a different spring, etc., but your most valuable consideration is how it feels for you, and how you shoot it. I know that may not appear to be a lot of help, but it really is. It's the best advice anyone could give. Anyone who tells you, you should get this gun or that, don't walk away from their advice, run. Or... why choose? Get one of each. And don't forget the Gen 5. :)

I bought my first Gen 2 Glock 19 in early 1990 as a young Army Captain stationed at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. Thought it was funky looking at first, especially after carrying a 1911A1 in Korea. But the more I handled it and examined it, the more I liked its simplicity. It's still my primary home defense pistol. Thousands of rounds through it and I can't recall the last time it had a failure. Just a great pistol!!

Just bought my first Glock a month ago -- a Glock 19 Gen 4. I'm. In. Love. Also bought a 33 round mag for it. On my first day out with some friends, I put the hi-cap mag in it and had fun. My friends with me were all saying, "Um, are you going to leave any center on that target?" It shot that well, right out of the box! I'm sold! Now looking for my next Glock. Maybe a 26.

I have a Gen. 4 Glock 19 and 32. Thousands of rounds...not a single failure in either. I've sold high end 1911's such as Les Baer, Sig 229, Beretta 92, and I've only got the glocks ;) Who knew, I hated the thought of any polymer...now I prefer polymer frame/no manual safety systems! Also for the amount of gun you get, plus 3 mags! You can't beat the price of a Glock. I can't justify the price of a Sig anymore personally, nor even higher end pistols.

I didn't get on to the Gen4 until 2012, but I have never had any issues with one. I've owned at least three, and it is my EDC gun. I cannot say enough good about this gun. For me, it is the quintessential EDC/CC gun. It is the best do it all GP gun in my humble opinion.

My Glock 19 is my first Glock, and I LOVE IT! It is one of those guns in my collection that will stay in my collection until the day I die and my kids inherit my guns. I think people who love Glocks are not fanboys, we Glock fans just understand and appreciate the quality and reliability of a Glock pistol. They just work...every...single...trigger...pull!!! I also have a G45 and a G44. I will always own at Glocks, they are simply an outstanding firearm.

I have a Gen 3 19 and it's a great pistol! I hate all the haters who call people "Glock fan boys"! Most of them probably still live in mommy's basement and have never even fired a real pistol. Glocks are the AK of the pistol world. They are reliable and very customizable and the only bad thing I have to say about mine is that I don't get to shoot it enough. To anyone looking to buy a good quality pistol I say buy a Glock 19. 9mm firepower in a lightweight thin and comfortable frame with many options for upgrades. Easy to take apart and clean and maintain. Can't go wrong.

Great review. You mentioned the 23. How do you feel about the .40 S&W in a Glock? A lot of people out there are saying the .40 beats the frame up and the gun is done after 10,000 rounds. I know the 9mm goes way past 10,000 from experience. Just curious to hear your thoughts

I own a Glock 19 Gen 4 and it has been extremely reliable with great ejection. My only complaint is that when I chamber check it when it's gummed up with carbon it won't fully go into battery when I let go of the slide (the the guide rod springs are most effective when the slide is all the way to the rear for maximum spring tension and propulsion). Even though I fixed this with just a simple tap of the rear of the slide to put it back into battery. Same thing applies when chamber checking an AR-15, just use the forward assist if the action is gummed up and the bolt doesn't go all the way forward.

For 90s baby this is the pistol we have grown up around. To me the first image that popped in my head as a young kid when I heard "handgun" was a glock. Of course when I think of a traditional american pistol I think 1911, but the traditional image of a handgun in my psyche will forever be a glock.

Another great video, Sootch. I have been a SW fan for years and really like my heavy 5906...as I am older and handicapped--stroke-I am leaning toward a G19. I have to now use mostly my left hand...I see the main trigger safety on the right of the pistol. Will that work well as my left hand has no ill effects, yet I can guide my right well but not as powerfully. Again I enjoy your delivery.

Thanks for making great videos. I have sold thousands of pistols and own the 17 gen 3 and the 23 gen 2,. I qualified for my PI license shooting both. Both of my glocks were police trade in's. You just can beat the 19 and 23 for accuracy and durability. The guns work and work well and work dirty. I take my 23 camping and I have never been disappointed. I like the fact that they are light and work well in high humidity.

The Glock 19 is a great choice for a ccw. I'm medium sized at 5' 9'' 185lbs and I wear it every day. If it's a tad big for you, you may want to look at the 26. It's a little smaller but it's big where it counts. Either way, a quality holster will make it much more comfortable and concealable. Check out NSR or alien gear holsters. I've heard good things about Bravo Concealment, too.

I bought a glock g30 gen 4.45acp. To my surprise, it's very easy to handle because the recoil is very controllable. Haven't had a chance to practice much with it but, the first 20 rounds out of it hit exactly what I was aiming at!! Have NEVER done that with any other pistol. Hit and miss ratio is 100% so far. NOW I want a g19 gen 3 or gen4. Safety FIRST!!!

It too, is my favorite carry pistol. That's because it is the "original" (as all Glocks are) and everyone else has what I think are 'copies' of the Glock platform. I'm convinced the 19 can handle anything I will run into (except bears and I have the Glock 20 for that). This is the weapon I'd want on me when things go south. Love your videos and your comments.
