@@codyallen2838 yeah to me I feel like there is around the same recoil on the PX4 Storm compared to a Glock 19, but just a different recoil impulse. It has less muzzle rise but it pushes your hands back instead. You notice the difference more if you're shooting 40. In 9mm it isn't as noticeable.

Beretta's rotating lock mechanism also allows for a fully closed/reinforced chamber unlike the glocks where it is partially closed which is what leaves the "glock smiles" on the casings. This is really only a point for us who reload. Also, it does not have the polygonal rifling like Glock so therefore you can launch cast bullets if you are into loading those for cheap target practice. I do not have one of these yet but I do have the Cougar and it is a rocking 40. PX4 storm 40 is next on the list

Just purchased the compact PX4 Storm .40 to be my primary CCW. I carried a Beretta 92FS for years and had never even fired a .40 I used the range Beretta to see how I could handle shooting the .40. At 25 yards the first 13 rounds I fired center mass of the human silhouette aiming for the heart. Placed all 13 in about a three inch pattern. The next 13 I made head shots and they landed dead center in about a 3-4 inch grouping. I went out front and purchased my new Storm Compact. I did my research for a good month and your video put this weapon in the top 3 contenders for me. Shooting it myself sealed the deal. Tomorrow I an looking to purchase either a .40 H&K. I don't get the issue with the da/sa. The first round is harder to shoot by accident if you don't mean it. And, after the first you're committed. In the Army that's good we practiced with the M9, and I didn't notice any problem. I think the issue is psychological.
@spacebear496 жыл бұрын
I've grown to like it as well. It's like a built in safety for the first shot kind of a "are you sure?" function. After that its game on. The DA pull on my 92 was hard as hell, but there are ways to reduce it. The D mainspring helps.
@bigjilm65224 жыл бұрын
Some people just prefer a consistent pull with all shots. As long as you're doing the training, Neither should be a problem. I like the da/sa myself but I respect that it just comes down to personal preference. Train train train is the bottom line with either.

The rotating barrel most definitely takes away some of the recoil. I have shot numerous other 40's and they have more recoil than my px4 storm 40. Also, the gun it self is a bit heavier, so that adds to the low recoil. My best friend's gun of choice is the S&W MP9. I love it too, but because of its low weight, I feel as though it too may have more recoil than my 40 even though its a 9. Additionally, I became extremely accurate with it very quickly. I am so thankful I went for the px4 storm 40.

I bought this gun in .40 cal, I love the way it feels in the hand and shoots. I have never had a malfunction with it and I've shot numerous brands, fmj, hp, 165 grain & 185 grain, brass case, nickle, and aluminum. It breaks down easy enough and goes bck tpgether easy once you learn how to deal with the barrel. That took me a few tries, but i figured it out and now no problems what so ever. I've shot 9mm with more recoil than this. I had the Kahr CW40 which was horrible to shoot (the recoil was terrible and painful after 3 mags) and had lots of issues. I also had the Glock 22 in .40 cal which was very a nice pistol, I kind of miss it at times. I could shoot very well with that gun, nice tight groups. The Glock's recoil wasn't bad but the Storm's is considerably less. I thought about getting the Storm in 9mm if I can get it in trade or go to Glock 19. I'm very torn on that one though. I don't mind the DA/SA at all, I'm used to it. Nice video. Shoot safe and God Bless.

Being used to 6 o'clock I hated that. Just constantly shot low. Beretta now sells an adjustable sight for sixty bucks. I put that on and problem solved. Also on SA the trigger reset is very long. Still haven't found anyone who could help me with that. Guns built like a tank...and fires anything with a primer on it.

For starting with pistols I would dare say a .22 caliber pistol, preferably the Browning Buck Mark URX. Comfortable to everyone, low recoil, cheap to shoot, easier to disassemble than other .22 pistols for cleaning, and accurate as hell. Biggest plus is it feels like a 1911 to me and my brother with shape and controls, so it preps you for big guns. Big plus, 550 rounds of .22 is $20 at Wal-Mart, whereas 50 rounds of 9mm is $13 and 50 of .45 is often $20.

@@jaystonwilliams9370 1st I would have to say is the reliability. I have fired thousands of rounds thru this weapon and can not recall ever having a jam or a misfire. I actually went a long period without cleaning it on purpose just to check to see if it gummed up. It did not. The caliber is just individual choice. The 9mm, 40 and 45acp basically all have the same design and feel in your hand. I just got the bigger stopping power. I believe the cost is also the same. This weapon is my everyday carry weapon. I know I can trust it to do what it is supposed to do every time.

@@jdallgood1 sold! Last question is the recoil crazy? I mean I’m a bigger guy with large hands (6,3” 200) and I’ve been waffling between 40 snd the 45. I don’t want a 9 cuz of the shortage. I keep hearing that people hate the 40 and I’ve also heard that carrying a 45 is difficult. So you chose a 40 purely for the stopping power? I know you’re busy and have a life but this is really helping me out. But I’m super excited about this firearm snd the rotating barrel. Just need ti make a decision about the caliber. Thank u friend!
@jdallgood13 жыл бұрын
@@jaystonwilliams9370 The internal design of this gun and the composite it is made of give you amazing control. The recoil is nothing. You will think you are firing a 380 or 9MM. The profile is smaller than your average 45 and you will find carrying is a breeze. I have actually carried this in my front pocket. Check the specs because if you are deciding between 40 and 45 I don't think the size of the gun spec are different .maybe slightly. I also have some big bear claws. 6'1 235 but I have no problems with the gun feeling too small. Go into you local gun store and hold one. You will immediately see that it feels great. Again I like the bigger stopping power so I went 45acp instead of 40. Regardless of what you choose it is hard to go wrong if you get a px4 storm no matter the caliber.

I love my PX4 in 40cal. its been very reliable and I never had any issues with it, so far I went through 3000+ rounds, it never jammed or FTF or FTE. However at around 2000+ rounds I had one issue with Remington UMC ammo, it bulged my barrel and I had to buy a new one...that was only issue i had, and it wasnt guns fault.

I just put a PX4 in .45 ACP on layaway the other day, and plan to pick it up next week. I already have the M9, so I figured why not have the Beretta in the caliber of both worlds!

You should try and find an old Beretta model 8045F "Cougar". It feels exactly like the 92FS/M9, but with the action of the PX-4. It was the predecessor to the PX-4. It truly is the best of both worlds, but will make you wish they'd kept the Cougar line going! Enjoy your PX-4 and 92 :)

To AFS, thanks for supporting this channel. I have recommended your website specifically because of your support for Hickok's videos and I'll be buying some ammo from you myself too. Keep up the support and we'll do our part! Thanks.
