In a state with a 10 round magazine limit, capacity is a non-issue. I prefer 10+1 in 40 S&W rather than 9mm.

I have the Gen 5 Glock 23 and its a great shooter with recoil not much more than a 9mm. My favorite Glock!

G23 all day. Modular and capable to utilize 3-4 calibers with conversion barrels/slides, ie 22lr, 9, 40 and 357 Sig. A great option.

I have both in Gen 4. I love them both, I shoot both equally well, If recoil is an issue for you then train more. My wife carries and shoots the.40 with no issues.

I’ve owned both and preferred the 23. With the Gen 5 they finally made it suitable to shoot the .40.

Proud owner of the 23 gen 5 she's fricken AWESOME! Hard not to love the 40s&Wesson aka mini 10mm round, use 155 gr federal hst or 165 gr hst both Hard hitting rounds and will protect your life for sure, or my favorite the Winchester Ranger T 180gr man those are nasty one's great video💪

The people saying that 40S&W is “too snappy” are the same ones who praise 10mm as a god-tier round. It makes zero sense. They make it sound like the .40 cal is a 50BMG compared to a 10mm.

Put a strike industries mass driver compensator, that counter recoil is effective, and can use a 9mm conversion barrel on it too to practice at the range.

I carried a G23 for most of my LE career. In retirement, I have owned a couple of Gen 4 G27 pistols. Currently I own a Gen 5 G27 and, in my opinion, the shooting experience with the Gen 5 G27 is much better than any G27 I have owned or shot previously. Interestingly, according to Glock, the Gen 5 G27 is virtually identical in weight to a Gen 4 G23. The only downside I have found to owning a Gen 5 in 40 is that some holster makers do not offer a holster for Gen 5 Glocks in 40.

I like the Glock 23 gen 5 but for every day carry with be my Glock 19 gen 5 cause the follow up shoots more controllable then the Glock 40

I got the Glock 22 about a month ago as my first 40 and I can't freaking tell a difference in recoil between it and a 9mm. I think people are exaggerating too much. If anything my gen 4 Glock 21 had noticeably more recoil.

G23 gen 5 is my EDC.. things a powerhouse… it’s not just reliable, it’s “Glock Perfection” to be honest.. 1,100 rounds through it so far with various fmj and defensive rounds. Never malfunctioned on me. It just works.. simple as that

I rented a g23 gen 5 and the beefier slide makes this gun shoot real nice for a 40 and the recoil would be a non issue for just about anyone who shoots 9mm

These two are too small for full comfortable grip, I wear LG/ExLg glove and I want full three finger grip comfort. My preference is my G17L, G17C, G40 and G25. Yes the G25 is the same size as the G19 but it's for training with ladies and first time shooter friends. A 'full size' .380acp. Glad to see respect for the basic pedestrian Glock. 👍

Glock 17 is too small. I prefer a Glock 21 or an HK USP. The Glock 17 is fine for a target plinker if you're training a youngster or the elderly.

Look at the MASSIVE gap between the slide and frame on the 23. All the new gen 5’s are like that. See through and worthless in the field.
