I have both guns as well. I'd rather carry the Glock but the Sig is a MUCH better quality gun...My 229 is my home defense gun

I've been carrying striker fired S&W M&P and Glock pistols without safeties exclusively for 12 years, but I'm switching to SIG DA/SA. Glock leg is highly underreported. I will still carry my Glock 33, but by mixing in a Sig P229 along with my M&P Bodyguard 380, I cut down on the chances considerably. Striker fired guns without safeties, or striker status indicators you can ride like a hammer upon holstering, are like driving cars without a seatbelt. I'm not opposed to it sometimes, but it's better to be buckled up in my opinion.

I understand Glock's safeties and simplicity. The slogan "Glock perfection" is great for marketing but rather than buy a G19 and almost got a Sig P225 A1 but ended up with the P320 Compact. I was turned off by the 'perfection' marketing especially when I heard about some flaws that caused injury (May 4 2018 trigger pin moved causing a discharge while holstering plus other rumblings). I have heard it compared to the Honda Civic in that it does most everything well or well enough. Sig Sauer seems to engineer better. I'm a nerd so I went with it.

WHICH IS BETTER GLOCK ??? LOL MINDLESS TRY THE 365 ...........SIG 100%. Always P 229 in .40 HERE. I NEVER PICKED UP A GLOCK THAT FELT GOOD IN THE HAND THEY ALL FEEL WRONG. UNNATURAL FEEL HORRIBLE FLOCK GLOCK THEY SUCK JMO

Hola amigos! No soy un experto en armas pero basado en mi poca experiencia y de lo que puedo opinar con objetividad. Primero, mi primer arma fue una glock 17 y prácticamente ni la disparé, un Smith weson 686 .mi segunda pistola que aún poseo es una Glock.19 x , luego adquirí una sig sauer p365 ya que para portar es muy cómoda. Después de probarlas más a menudo me gustó mucho tanto la glock cómo la sig. Pero reconozco que más allá de tener todo en regla y ser portador legal no soy un experto en armas , si me gustan mucho. Pero mi última adquisición y siendo una pistola con martillo a la vista me encantó una sig sauer p 229 nitron. Una belleza de pistola .. Para mi la mejor lejos.

I like sig and Glock as well . Hard to beat a g19 for carry . My 229 is in 40s&w which is ideal , since it was built for that round . It just handles the recoil and makes it manageable. With right holster it’s easy to carry . But on the other hand the g19 is lighter, sometimes I forget I’m carrying it , plus I little the fact I can have 17 rounds in my extra magazines. It’s hard to leave out the 40 is superb round and better ballistics than a 9mm . I like the fact I train with most popular chambering rounds 45acp 40 s&w 9mm just because you never know what your going to pick up in a jam these days . K

My preference is the Glock simply because I have more experience with it. But I would use the Walther P99 instead.

Why carry 9mm in a capacity restricted state? That P229 in 357 Sig would make you second guess that G19. You can get a G32 but the 229 handles it WAY better. I own both and living in a non restricted state I choose the 229. If I were in a state where I was limited to 10 rounds I’d be carrying something that out performs 9mm round for round in a heartbeat. I carried during the ban years and preban mags were crazy expensive. So I carried 40 in a HK usp compact. Once the ban was lifted I carried a G19 for about 10 years. After discovering 357 sig I’ve not looked back. I choose to give up the two extra rounds for the extra performance.

I love my Glock 19s, but the best carry option for me is appendix carry and I feel safer carrying a DA/SA pistol that way. I've been carrying a CZ-P07, a great gun for me in every way except there is not much slide to grab onto since the slide fits inside the frame. For that reason I recently purchased what I consider to be the best replacement for it which is the Sig P229. Looking forward to its arrival!
