The work you are doing to this sounds a lot like the work CZC did to make the Pro Tek II.

The mainspring housing is machined, the front strap is hand checkered only at 20 LPI. The 30 LPI is machined, and run over with a file. That’s why you will see extra cuts on the edges where the file wasn’t lined up.

I have the Sig Sauer 1911 C3 and it has the front checkering. I changed out the grips with a wrap around hogue finger grip that covers the front checkering. Changes the entire feel of the firearm in your hand. Outstanding upgrade.

IMHO the P229 is the most unreliable piece of $hit I've never fired. My spank'n brand new P229 broke down before I sent the first round down the barrel. What a piece of garbage. Don't buy

Springfield makes very nice 1911s… just have to change every part in it. Do you know if Nighthawk Custom trigger kit fits your gun? I own TRP… piece of shit for $1,800.

Cz sp01 has too many weak links that break like the firing pin retaining pin, the trigger return spring, and even the slide stop, garand thumb points these weakness out as well. I liked my sp01 and p01 until the firing pin retaining pin failed on me in the range, glock is the standard for a reason.

Nice respect on ur skillz, I have the CZ version of the P0-1 The SDP but I cannot find out what’s different about the newer version and why they discontinued the one I have. I will say selling it for a pretty penny would be easy. Have to get this pistol in my dna to determine if I will sell for that Kriss Sphinx, SDP compact 9mm. There around 1k on their site. I was surprised . Time to check more recent reviews . Thx

Does anyone know what is the difference from the California models. Are they also series 70?

This is my all time favorite. It fits me like a glove. I did all the Cajun work myself. Well worth it. I carried a CZ83 for years. Military grade. It worked every time. So when I got the chance, I jumped on the PCR. This is my Fourth CZ. I have Spring Field XD, 1911, Gc3, and more. This one for me takes the Cake.

I didn’t know they had a loaded chamber indicator. Is that just for California?
@skillet4068Ай бұрын
I get it. Within a month of owning my SP-01 I was looking at what CGW could do for it. It’s more about making the gun what it can be, not just going with what it is.

An excellent presentation! I am grateful for the balanced and unbiased impression and acknowledgment of the contrasting differences between these two admirable pieces of gunsmithing geniuses. In this case, it is all about preference. Period. I have always considered the Glock 17 as my next acquisition and first semi-auto and 9mm handgun. But in my case, I am a wheel gun man from the start, and prefer, over-engineered, heavy, and stock out of box superb performance. I had done my homework for years on this issue, detecting any irrational and verging on belligerent attitudes among the ‘Apostles’ of any given make and model. I will confess that my fundamental choice of minor big bore double action revolvers might seem like a bias of my own (I won’t deny that could be a factor). However, when racked to chamber a round, both are now in single-action mode. The option that won me over besides empirical accuracy, was the ability to take the hammer back down if I choose to in the case of the CZ. I agree that the weight and lower profile of the CZ slide is indeed mildly challenging. But that is why it has a lower elevated offset, better mitigating felt recoil and muzzle flip. Also, the trigger right out of the box is something to marvel at! I highly respect and salute you!

I have both Kimbers and Dan Wesson 1911's. I needed to send back my Kimber due to failures to cycle and they fixed it within a week and sent it back with a extra mag. The Dan Wesson has never had an issue, both are good guns but the Dan Wesson is the more premium pistol.

I love me a 1911! I have a PII I got back in 2014. It was a customized version with no front cocking serrations, fiber optic front sight, blacked out rear and single sided thumb safety. Thanks for showing the Wilson Combat magwell. I have toyed with the idea of doing the same with mine, but wasn't sure how it would fit on the LB.

I have the Sig Sauer 1911 Black Nitron 45 Auto with rail and the Springfield RO 45. Also have a Rock Island 45 and a Glock 21. I spend a lot of time at my Dillon presses and shoot the Sig and Springfield a lot. As far as function and accuracy goes they are both great with most RN handloads I run through them. Most people probably won’t be able to tell the difference in the two at the end of the day. The Sig seems more refined and finished. I had the trigger in my Sig worked by a my gunsmith who has been working on 1911’s for 50 years. From the factory the Springfield trigger was better. With a little work the Sig is just as good. They are both good reliable 1911’s.
