GLOCK 19 vs Sig Sauer M11 A1 9mm - Comparison

This is a direct non-shooting comparison video of the GLOCK 19 and Sig Sauer M11 A1 semi-auto pistols. GLOCK 19 NiB-X coating vs Sig Sauer M11 A1 Nitron/Phosphate coating. Both Pistols have been used extensively for concealed carry over several years.

One very important feature you missed if you get a light primer strike you are racking a slide with the glock.With the sig just pull the trigger again.Good video well done

Snappyobx any trainer will tell you not to rely on pulling the trigger again. 1. If you have a problem with the primer (seated poorly at the factory) or a factory defect the second trigger pull won't do anything. 2. If your mag isn't seated all the way you'd be pulling the trigger over and over on an empty chamber 3. If it's a hang fire your primer has gone off and pulling the trigger won't do anything but waste time, you need that round out and onto another in a gunfight. With a Glock you're FORCED to proceed with a tap rack drill which at this time is tactical 101. Although since you can train to do this drill with a sig over pulling the trigger again it's not a Glock advantage it's certainly not a disadvantage for the Glock to be unable to re-engage the seat every time.

great video and very informative on these two self defenses pistols.i have the m11a1 I use it for my canceled carry and also home protection because I shoot it so well and it fits my hand size perfectly.not one malfunction from the Sig or the g19 I had previously.both are great pistols can't go wrong either way just that the Sig fit my hand size better and felt more comfortable for me.great video Thanx for the info

Excellent review and comparison, thanks! I've got a Glock 19 and have been strongly considering also purchasing a Sig M11, but ultimately the price is a deciding factor for me. For how similar the guns are, a 15-round 9mm gun that I can buy for $400 versus a 15-round 9mm gun that I can buy for $800 makes it a no-brainer for me. Both are great guns, but I can buy TWO Glocks for the price of one Sig.

HydeMyJekyll the difference in price is only a few hundred dollars. if you are military and/or LEO, then can get the SIG at a discounted price. that really makes the SIG the better buy. Glocks are good for the money, but to me SIG builds a better pistol. It will outlast you, and it will not let you down. There is a reason why US military aviators are issued the SIG M11-A1. it is a flawless pistol.

Jst got a as new m11 for $540 Ina local pawn shop , was so happy with the price. On price it's the old saying ," you get what you pay for" I think there a good reason for the being 40 % more expensive the m11 has 4 safety features built in, . The decock lever also blocks the firing pin when decocked , 2nd , the hammer never rested on the back of the firing pin , 3 rd the 12 pound first pull 4 th he internal rail position pin so the top of the gun has to be in perfect alignment when rebuilt after cleaning. Do not release the hammer always use the decocker or the firing pin internal safety will not work.....

Wouldnt a person do it backwards? I mean carry the sig in a owb leather holster while working? Something with a thumbreak? And then carry the glock during ones leisure time iwb style??

It’s simply which we you prefer. They both are great firearms. I look at as, do you want to drive a Toyota or a Lexus? Both are great cars and very reliable one is just more premium than the other.

That’s all firearms. I’ve owned glocks where the trigger reset spring had broke, same with rugers, I’ve had revolvers lock up, there is no always guaranteed perfect gun. Just your personal preference. Having owned both. The Sig feels and shoots better, but the Glock carries easier.

I own both the Sig M11-A1 and Glock 19 Gen 4. I was a bit turned off by the Glock 19 due to the take down method being a bit of a pain. Well, this weekend, I was able to put about 100 rounds through both and much to my surprise, the Glock outperformed my M11-A1, especially out to 25 yards. With my Sig, I was hitting 4in high and 2in right at 7 yards. With my Glock, I was hitting 2in low and 1in left at 7 yards. I can adjust the sights for windage, but not for elevation. Anyway, I checked the sight with a bore sight and sure enough, it verified the sights were off for both.

+Roy Rogers no, haven't gotten better at it. I don't have enough dexterity in my fingers to hold the two tiny leavers down to remove the slide. I have to wear latex gloves to get a good enough grip.

Clint Lewis you can't switch triggers like that. You're shooting like a "blanket statement" try shooting one of them for a month. Then the Macy for a month. Then compare

nick Hurley Why not? All it does is reset sooner. Doesn't increase your chances for AD/ND. Lots of defense firearms have short resets.

Nate Skaggs first of all, in not saying your wrong for doing so. But when adrenaline kicks in the srt trigger (or those like it) allow for unintentional discharge. The glock "6lb" trigger will feel like nothing when the need arise. Ever been punched in the face and not feel it?

Still.thinkin ‘ srt trigger does not effect the weight of the trigger pull genius, it effects how quickly you can fire the next shot (how quickly the trigger will reset), the weight will still be the same to get that shot off, that’s not going to change. Its literally like getting a Zev trigger kit for the Glock.

I don't know why it never occurred to me that the trigger pull on the Glock is the same from the first shot to the last shot. I've never minded DA/SA. I grew up on the Beretta M9 and have no issue thumbing the hammer to avoid that first long pull. Thanks!! Great video. Bottom line. Get both.

Sig is a better made pistol, but it's too big & heavy plus that d/a to s/a sucks. I choose Glock - not pretty but much easier to carry, better made magazines, availability of parts - can't beat a glock.
