Glock 43L

This is a very interesting discussion. Seeing lately allot of folks trading in their 43x for the 48 or adding the G48 into their collection to replace their 43X. I always wondered why people would opt for a longer barrel till a lady explained to me why she moved from the 43X over to the 48. Her reasons were somewhat not surprising and some was surprising. Some interesting reasons were that she said that the 48 print as much as a 43X for her as it's the same width and same grip length and the slide length didn't cause printing issues when appendix carrying, a matter of fact the longer slide for her is more comfortable in appendix as the short slide of her 43X had a tendency to have a feeling of the grip and rear of the pistol to tilt outwards in certain body movements and positions. She said the 48's longer slide helps eliminating the grip and back area to tilt outward in certain positions. Her other reason was not surprising to me as where she lives and that is in a country where you have a very likely chance if attacked, to be in your vehicle as in our country car high jackings are one of the major violent crimes and for her it was to be able to effectively use Blind Barrier ammo, as the 43X is not a good platform for 135gr Critical Duty, but the 4 inch barrel of the 48 is a great platform for the 135gr Critical Duty that is a blind barrier round designed to shoot through car windows and doors and hitting the target effectively. So I mean a 43 frame on a 48 slide is a valid option if you require even more conceal but want the benefits of a 4inch barrel. As usual enjoy your interesting takes on handguns.

It's certainly good to have options. My stubborn eyes just don't like the symmetry of "L" style guns, but they do like "X" style guns, and always have. I can still appreciate the benefits of the "L" style guns, though. 👍👍

I find it hilarious that no matter how hard they try gun companies always end up making a model that is almost identical in size to the G19 including glock.
