I started playing 7D2D in Alpha 18 and at that time it was possible to use those wedge blocks to create a 4 block tall wall all around a base and the zombies would not be able to get inside. They were unable to walk up them and they wouldn't hit them very often. I built this wall all the way around the Fates Motel main house, which I was using as a home/horde base/ and then built a walkway going out from the house several blocks and then all the way around. This way I could walk around the outside of the house and pick off zombies stuck on the wall with a sniper rifle and my only danger was birds and spider zombies. I used this base past day 120 with no hordes being able to touch me. When Alpha 19 dropped the Dev's decided they didn't like players having a good way to protect their bases so they made it to where zombies could easily walk up the wedge blocks... which is why they are not sliding down them on your base.

Rad suit idea is great imo, should have a perk system tho and at max perks it gains armor equivalent to light armor maybe
@jeffrobagman2834 Жыл бұрын
each piece adds 20% rad/puke protection, but has no armor value. You could wear helmet and gloves for 40% and armor in other slots. Also could scrap them for mats to make a protect mod for armor that gives 5-10% I like 5% but you could slot up to 2 per armor piece.

This is exactly how I use to play this game. I'd pick a structure and make a base out of it. No supply area here and hoard base there. All in one and see how long I can last. One of my very first bases I built was out of a church, seemed so appropriate at the time, and gave me a great sense of atmosphere. The inside was like a small maze of traps with the same type blade/electrical wire combo. At the end were two dart shooter things, I forget what you call them. At one point I was able to lay down bullet proof glass on top of the maze section so I could walk on it. Was fun, but that was several Alphas ago. I haven't played this game in while, other games are occupying my time, and I just watch the occasional Glock9 video from time to time.

I once survived 5 horde nights on one of those bridges. Just left one vertical pathway to the top and put up a junkie the knocked them into the river. Added some structural support under the bridge for stability and to give them extra stuff to whack on plus a cage to keep out the birdies. Only left it because it was a bit too cheesed out. Sometimes the simple way is best.

Zombies walk on the center of blocks. So any block that is off to the side, such as your trim you placed, they can't walk on that. They can obviously walk on the ramp blocks, they just walk in the center of them as they do all blocks. Also, I noticed that you said you left the top two blocks of the ladder as wood so you could shoot them out and the "zombies wouldn't see that as a path," yet just recently you did the NEPA POI and had zombies coming up a ladder with the top two blocks missing, they were pushing each other up the ladder at you, I guess you forgot about that already, lol. And the last thing, you were surprised it took so long for zombies to come to the opposite side of the bridge, just remember that horde waves come from specific directions. For example, the first wave might come from the east, but the next wave might come from the north. That's why they were all on one side for a while. Entertaining video as always, nonetheless.

I didn't say anything in Lucky Looter because the final base changed. From experience I know the electric fence posts will take AOE damage diagonally through the seams in the plates. Always seal blocks with plates and poles. Keep up the great content!

We built the base on top of the bridge. Caged the top and vault doored the 4 ramps. Used the 4 support ramps for the zombies to come to us. And had blade traps along side them. And it could still function as a bridge on other nights. It worked for a few horde nights until the demo guys showed up. Then slowly we started loosing ramps

One of your best horde bases. I remember your first bridge base I think it was A17, back when I bought the game. Random idea based around the bridge: Bridge Troll episode. Build your bridge base with the intent of getting as much loot from the horde as you can WHILE you're fighting it. The reason for that is, you can only start fighting the horde with primitive tools and weapons, picking up and using anything the zombies drop to upgrade your arsenal. Trolls aren't gunsmiths and no one would ever sell them anything, they can't go into town to buy things, so they set up a toll bridge. Goofy stuff like that is exactly why I play the game and watch your content. You're absolutely right about your imagination pretty much being the limit.

Zombies don't slide on regular wedges anymore. Use the Wedge Narrow, but only the widest three. The flat section is 0.25 (1/4) blocks wide and has to be uncovered for zombies to see it as a viable path. You can, then, use the Wedge Narrow tip to push off and the 1/4 block to dupe them into thinking that the, now, covered flat section is uncovered.
