in my area it is perfectly legal to keep, breed, sell or supply it to pet shops as long as you don't release it into the wild ... if you want to import it.. then you need license... that's it

I have glofish danios in my paludarium water feature. They act like sharks pulling crickets down deep when they fall in. Also ate a dead gecko to a skeleton.

It’s been 1yr now but my danios look so tired and looks like a reptile skin above kind of erupted .. I bought salt to add for fresh water fish and now I started first day of life guard tablet .. I don’t know what’s happening to them .. out of 5, two got sick like this and also not eating ..

Get yourself a test kit and check your water parameters ASAP! If you cant buy one take some water from your fish tank in a cup with a lid and take it to a petsmart or petco and they do a free test.

It is not illegal to breed or sell them, you can just not advertise them as "glofish" as the name is trademarked.

@@jraquariumpr incorrect. I have spoken to Tetra myself and confirmed, only authorized retail shops will have access to the full range of Tetra products(not just their glofish). Only authorized shops may advertise/sell them as Glofish(trademarked), ANY PERSON CAN NATURALLY BREED/KEEP/SELL IT, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING PREVENTS THAT, you can then only advertise them as "green danios" or "pink white skirt" or "purple cory" etc. Then, it is only the method of adding the "colour" that is patented. Natural breeding can not be patented(unless some God wants to), therefore, they(Tetra) does/can not control who keep/breed/sell fish, they can only control who sells THEIR(TETRA) products as their method of creation is patented and someone else cannot create Glofish using their(Tetra's) patented method.

In my area we do not have any authorized Tetra retailers, yet the petshops have Tetra products. How? The biggest importer in my country is authorized so petshops buy from them as a 3rd party, meaning they(petshops) do not have to comply with contractual obligations.
