Boost tiles were originally unplantable like in 2C during development but we quickly changed that because it made counterplay VERY annoying, especially for level 8 here which called for a part of the lawn to be covered with them. The effect duration was also longer and that made invincibility tiles hella scary. And yes, all tiles have a slight cooldown between activations. Reason Nightshade showed up so much is because this quest is unlocked on Modern Day - Day 16, before you get the other shadow plants, so we built the plant and zombie selection around that in mind. I guess it helped Nightshade quite a bit tho as I´ve seen people see him more favorably now, so thats nice. Level 8 was my level for this quest and boy do I love crazy finales. The theme was originally similar to PvZ 1´s 2-10 but it sorta turned into a chaotic send off finale with mostly everything encountered thus far in your adventure. Fun fact: the plants you´re given go in BACKWARDS unlock order, from MD-JM plants to the end giving you AE-WW plants. Gloom Vine is... fine. We´re definitely giving it a second revision in the near future thanks to the feedback people have given us. We needed to qualm that thing from dominating Penny´s Challenges alongside Dusk Lobber, and now that thats done hopefully we can give it a proper push into being a helpful part of the shadow arsenal! It just might take a bit, thats all. I will forward the Parsnip balancing concern too because even im surprised we didnt touch it when it could use some help, but thats as much as I´m willing to spoil for the time being.

The reason you saw nightshade a lot in this quest and not other shadow plants is because this quest unlock after completing MD-16 so we made and balance this with plants and zombie post MD-16 (not including expansion) About Beghouled level. The portal spawn are rng, cant do much about it without some annoying work around. They spawn on a timer so it better to much as fast as possible.

39:02 The reason neither of these plants were picked is because this quest takes place between Modern Day part 1 and part 2. 43:19 AltverZ, another popular PvZ2 mod, features its own version of Disinfection Zombie, Sea Spill Zombie. If you played the crossover event between RFL and AUZ, you've seen her in action. By the way, are you by any chance planning on making a series dedicated to AltverZ? Also, I'm surprised you didn't talk about Endurian's new costume, a brown coat and red sweater covering his mouth.

I'm actually quite happy with the gloom vine changes. I really missed his attack, and The extra aoe damage makes him a great plant to provide additional damage in Steam Ages, and it also pairs well with melee plants like bonk choy, as you can combine bonk choy, pumpkin, and gloom vine to create a wall of 3 sources of melee damage. It can also probably compliment the classic Aloe + Kiwi beast combo, but I have yet to actually test it.

The shadow shroom buff that made the poison last forever resulted plant food 2 shadow shrooms can clear the board as long as no zombies are poison-immune (since shadow shroom plant food on already poisoned zombies make them receive all remaining poison damage immediately, as poison lasts forever, it’s now infinite damage)

In my opinion the Shadow Shroom buff doesn't change how you use the plant. The plant still kills normal zombies the same. I think the buff helps with higher HP threats like Robocone and Gargs by doing gradual damage and better helps lower attacking plants. I do think the recharge buff was unnecessary do it most other early game plants charging up four times slower. Next patch they should probably revert it back to 10 seconds.

The new strawburst custom is EASLEY the best costume for a plant via every single version and mod for pvz2 Because the reflourished team made SURE that he wears the shemagh in one of the right ways (unlike every other poorly shown shemagh usege in non arab works) and even the sunglasses they straight up NAILED a stereotype Fantastic Fucking job reflourished devs!

My favourite costumes from thia update are shooting starfruit and the straw that broke camel back. With the new balance i can say it's PRETTY GOOD nice buff and nerf for plants who needed them Like phat beet and Snapdragon who were kinda weak snap costed more than what it offered and phat beet toke long to set up he is outclassed by kiwibeast who has better damage, phat beet needs more damage as he kinda our gloom shroom in PVZ2,you could say gloom vine was overnerfed? Less HP makes them less worth using than other vines sun cost and recharge were BUSTED it was so easy to get them, shrinking violet was the main plant who got nerfed damage multiplier going from 2x to 1.5 less powerful But they are still good to use. Btw shadow shroom buff that's make him busted just more better since his only use was armored zombies like basics and newspaper you're not gonna be able to kill tanks like Jurassic bully and mecha-zombies, poison as status in PVZ2 ain't that good just a niche against armored zombies other poison plants like puffball got buffed too less sun cost and stun makes him better.

Fanilla isn't meant to be an attacker, but rather support with its stun The old attack rate made it more likely for two fanilla to fire at the same time yet deal the same stun as one. The new attack rate diminishes that chance of that happening.

A plant that has a gimmick of being random would be fun, but changing it to being 2.9-3.1 would’ve been better in this case tbh. Edit: I see the edit, that’s an interesting point you brought up, but it seems like a double edged sword for the plant as it loses out on consistency.
