Angelina Jordan ASTAR (the name says it all), this young norwegian genius (here 7 and now 17) is imo the best singer on the planet! I am 70 y old and have never heard a singer like her in my whole life. Every time she brings tears in my eyes cause it is so beautiful. Her voice touches my heart and cleanses my soul.

Mr J, you’re doing it right! I alway tell people to start with “young Angelina”. Then you get the pleasure of watching her grow and develop! It’s as if you now have your own granddaughter! There’s so much fun to be had. Meri, her real grandmother, took many videos of Angelina’s performances and rehearsals, it’s wonderful! You become part of her family! Enjoy the ride! It’s like no other! And, hey, it’s ok if you want to cheat a bit and watch something she’s done more recently! Since you’re sick, watch something that will put you in a good mood! I suggest “Seventh Heaven”. She has a fun music video of her singing in a bistro. I think you’ll love it!

I love to watch knowledgeable reactors encounter Angelina for the first time. You understand right away what you’re hearing. There are many, many vocal coaches who talk about Angelina’s vibrato. She had it seemingly since birth, but it’s more than just a natural vibrato. She intentionally controls it, and sometimes is a slower oscillation between the notes-very distinctive and it’s one of her signature effects as you’ll see as you watch more of her later on. (She was seven years old here.)

Another thing is how well Angelina can control the volume of her vibrato. With most singers it is either on or off. Angelina can make it loud or soft or all volumes in between, and slip in little bits of vibrato at various points. And over the years she has continued to get better at controlling it.

Mr. J, I hope you are feeling better today. All of us Angels struggle to find words that describe what we feel when Angelina sings. I am resigned to the fact after 3 years of following her. The world became a better place on January 10th, 2006 when Angelina Jordan Astar was born. The world began to heal when Angelina, shortly before her 8th birthday, sang "Gloomy Sunday". Angelina has and will continue to improve the quality of life for millions. We ALL need reminders to support artists and the reactors alike. Personally, I now watch 2 Angelina videos, in their entirety, each day from either her Official or Cover channel, and LIKE and comment, or reply to other comments. I would encourage you to request from viewers the same for your videos. If fans supported your artists and also your channel in this way, it would boost both of you in the KZbin algorithm, and recommend yours and her videos to millions more viewers.

Nice analysis. You mentioned something that is a hallmark of Angelina’s singing. She has SO many vocal tools at her disposal, especially at this young age, and yet she selects and uses these techniques SO judiciously. Nothing is ever overdone. Angelina uses vibrato a lot and often. And yet it is never too much and never too often. I don't know of anyone else who can do this.

Angelina was 7 yrs old and this was the first time she appeared on TV. Norway’s Got Talent which she won at 8yrs old. (She was born on Jan 10, and this past Jan she turned 17.

At 77 I have listened to just about everything ever sent out over the airways, and concerts from intimate clubs to 100,000 stadium concerts. NEVER have I really understood the meaning and deep emotions of thousands of songs as I do when Angelina lays them out with her voice. There is emotion in each word. I guess that's a poor explanation of how her voice is interpreted by my brain, but it's all I got. LOL.

Age 7 here, but she finishes out the NGT at age 8, but always spectacular. Angelina is such a joy. I come back to these early beginning performances for the pleasure of falling in love with her all over again, but also knowing that listening to her at any age will heal your soul.

Another thing that is remarkable about Angelina is her emotional expression, both the variety of different emotions she can express, including ones far too advanced for her young age, and also how real and heart-felt they are.

And only 7 he​re, the sophistocation of he r voice (ornamentation?) and yet her other mannerisms are almost baby-like, or that of a very young child, showing just how young she really is, with that mature voice and delivery. The difference between her young age here and the slight maturity when just a few months older on Th Rosie O D show, is apparent. It's just something so special to have captured for posterity!

Hi Mr. J, nice to see you using my list. It's the Top 40 *percent* playlist, so it actually has like 150 entries. Those I mainly selected based on recording quality, as in terms of her excecution, most of what she did is excellent. I also have Top 20 percent, and Top 10 percent selections, where more of my personal taste came in. Here she actually was still 7 years old, as of late 2013, as it was recorded a few month before being broadcasted. The broadcast date is close to 9 years ago now.

Angelina’s performances are mindblowing. Now that is turning into a young woman, it is not as obvious but her skills are still years ahead of her age. Don’t be afraid of sounding like a broken record. You can still focus on her techniques specific to the song, or tells us what a song means or does to you. Just expect to be surprised :-)

You really do need to learn more about this child. First recorded singing at eighteen months of age. At two and three she is seen scrolling through KZbin looking for Jazz artists to listen to. At three she tells her Mother she wants to sing on that Simon show. At four she enters school and in addition to normal classes she enrolls in after school program taking music, piano, violin and flute. By five she is taking music theory, speaking three languages, Norwegian, Persian and English. She is reading English lyrics and practicing singing four to six hours per day six days per week. Mother is trying to put the brakes on but she is not having it. She wants more. Enters sound booth for the first time and records four songs, Rolling In The Deep, Hurt, Sky Fall, and most notably I Who Have Nothing, which is well worth reacting to. She is deconstructing and rearranging songs to her liking. At six while living in the Middle East her legend begins. You are not listening to a child. Have a wonderful journey finding out about Angelina.

Angelina's mother is half Iranian and half Japanese. So that's why Angelina hasn't got the scandanavian look!

Too bad you don't watch the intro or videos in it entirely.. You are missing so much about her. Its almost frustrating.for your viewers or patreons... Try it some time. Some things you share, such as her age during a specific video, are incorrect. And if you would have watched intro, etc.... you'd know that. Otherwise, your video are awesome.
