My friends and I garage band played it in 1968 in front of our Gr. 7 class when 13. We were only ones in our class that played instruments. They were quite impressed. I played this guitar part. We ear learned the song.

Excellent choice, the first track I worked out bye ear on guitar (Jimi Hendrix's version was my inspiration in this case) and I've since made it my mission to collect other covers of it just to see how others treat it. Among my favorites are Patti Smith (with an excellent spoken intro) and Van Morrison with John Lee Hooker (one of JLH's last singles). All 3 of the versions I've mentioned while playing it straight add something unique to this classic. As for technique I bar the top 3 strings on the D chord and bar strings 2,3 and 4 for the A as it helps me with the speedy changes.

I love their version as its a lil slower than Chuck Berry ever did it but its really cool. please check it out. remember Morells with 2 LLs ......PS.
