A real life Heretek Heroes believe freedom is the greatest hope to fight for. But in fact it’s order that allows for the creation and control of freedom. One isn’t born with the inherit right to be “free,” it’s earned through tireless dedication to a cause that only order can provide. And even then freedom can be taken away when misused by “heroes” hell bent on destroying order. The very thing that keeps life and civilization from falling into the depths of madness and despair. I occasionally to rarely play democracies in games based around freedom So as a Lawful Neutral (yes my irl alignment) I can proudly say whether as a villain or anti-hero. CMDRBLADE You’ll have to excuse me, as i’m not sure if you are specifically referring to philosophy or gaming. Gaming wise: absolutely. Many popular series base their hero’s goals around the premise of freedom as the highest ideal. With no afterthought as to the society they will create or if they will last. Leaving the epilogue to end with (because hero’s it works) Where as the villains in games, their ambitions, goals, and methods are thought out. As they are a key part of any games plot as the driving force for the protagonist to face or rebel against. I think a decent example of this in gaming is the Fire Emblem series. As you play the games, some of the very nations the hero’s of each game liberate and rule over, will then generations later deal with the same problems or invade other kingdoms just like they had fought against. A great irony. From a realistic philosophy standpoint I believe it also holds true. As historically every nation that is every liberated through revolution immediately creates a foundation for law and order. As they come to learn, freedom is great. But the cost of freedom is moderation, to temper their ideals by first maintaining order and stability.
