Thx for the vid man! Been using a Razer all my life and am taking the jump on a costume keyboard and am even playing to get the bare-bones version just to learn the experience! I appreciate you explaining stuff and showing it! Thx

Thanks for the review. Been looking to get a new keyboard as I'm using a Razer with green switches and it's too loud when other people are sleeping. I really like the Ducky One 3 but as I use my PC in low light a lot I think the GMMK 2 is a better value as it comes with shine through keycaps and even the 96% layout is only $120. Maybe I'll get the Ducky down the line to use during the day and the GMMK 2 at night lol.

really good review i was looking for a review like this! also do u think this is better than hyperx alloy origins?
@MURPHFRAGS2 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Both are solid boards and in similar price ranges. I think the GMMK 2 wins out here simply because it is offered in more color options and, most importantly, has a hotswap PCB. You are going to have more options now and down the line with the GMMK 2.

Appreciate the video and how in depth you went I'm wanting the barebones kit, but what's stopping me is what I assume is the loss of the (display of) function keys (To toggle volume etc). It looks like that feature is only present on the their pre built model (with the abs key caps). Do you know if they make any other key caps for this board that do that job? If not, I might buy it pre built as it looks like a great value board
@MURPHFRAGS2 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late reply. I don’t believe any of their own key caps sets have them. May be able to find some on Amazon or something but I’m not aware of any with the exact placement off the top of my head.

I just order this KB. What lube do you suggest?
@MURPHFRAGS2 жыл бұрын
It comes with their linear Fox Switches which come lightly prelubed. If you want to add additional lube I would suggest a light coating of their G-lube (simply because this is what it is prelubed with if I’m not mistaken) or Krytox 205g0.

thanks for pointing out that it has ABS keycaps. Might get it in barebones for that price. any idea if any of their switches are worth buying? i already have some box creams and nk silks laying around. loved the vid!
@MURPHFRAGS2 жыл бұрын
If you go with the Barebones kit, it might be easier/better to use the switches you have already, or buying some more to add to your collection. Their switches aren't bad though if you want to give them a try. If you really want to give Glorious' switches a try, their Panda switches are good if you want a tactile switch. I think comparing them to "Holy Pandas" is a stretch, but they are good. Their Lynx switches are decent, but if going linear I actually think I like the new Fox switches that come on it better. I don't see an option (at least not yet) for them to buy separately on their website though. Again though, for the price of their switches if you go Barebones, I personally would grab some switches (Gateron Black Inks or some Alpacas maybe??) from somewhere.

@MURPHFRAGS2 жыл бұрын
The $119.99 option comes with switches and keycaps...fully assembled. If you want to choose your own keycaps/switches you can get their "barebones kit" for $79.99. Also, if you select the barebones kit, it will still take you through menu options where they offer a selection of keycaps/switches straight through them (for an added price of course). You can also acquire your own keycaps/switches and just pass through the menus and pay the $79.99 for the keyboard with no switches/keycaps at all. It really comes down to how much you want to spend and if you want to customize it or not.

buying in 2024 for 82usd, is it still worth it?
@davik90033 ай бұрын
Yeah I think it's solid. It is well built for the price range. It was either this or the Wooting60 for me, and I didn't want to spend $160 on a keyboard or wait six to nine months. I have both now, and the GMMK2 still impresses. For my money, I'd absolutely get the GMMK2. It's my every day driver, with Panda switches, tape mod and GSV2 stabs and a lite lube job on all. I love it. The only change I would make, would be to get the 60 instead of the 96% version. I went 96 for some stupid reason and I don't know why.

@@davik9003 Damnn, I got it a few days ago. Disappointed honestly, stabilisers are ew and are too much lubed I think, and the caps lock indicator is the side lights blinking which you can’t even notice unless you’re in a dark room 💀
@davik90033 ай бұрын
@@dogeachu897 pretty sure you can turn that off in the software. And the GSV2 stabs are a must, but seriously the fox switches are my favorite stockers. I've tried to find a better deal for a $80 pre build, I haven't found one that beats this. What do I know tho

@@dogeachu897 all software for keyboards is trash. None of them are any good. since it has built in memory you can uninstall completely after you set it up the way you like, and you can change many settings through key commands, so that is really nice. adding some GSv2s literally make this a bomb ass keyboard for the money, any more money and I'd just get the wooting 60
