I wonder if FM has any plans in the future for introducing AI for things such as the media, or even during match commentary (either text or audio), would be awesome. Imagine a well polished AI being able to ask questions that are actually relevant to the match/whatever stage you are in the season, attempting to maybe stir up some drama and allowing you to type in your own answer and having the journalists, managers players etc actually react to it, either being happy/angry/sad about it based on what your response was. Maybe even also replying to you back in the media with AI generated responses that feel genuine, depending on their personalities for example. Feels like we might not be too far away from experiencing something like that.

In Spanish people often say “P*ta madre” which can be literally translated to “Your mother the wh*re”. However when said it is often meant as a “Heck yeah!”. You can even hear Modric say it multiple times in the “Real Madrid Celebration after beating PSG - Modric goes crazy” video on KZbin, he shouts it to all his team mates while celebrating. Strange that Porto’s manager doesn’t get this basic distinction, apart if it is in “bad faith” .
@Lucaz99
@Lucaz99 11 ай бұрын
It wouldn’t be strange if he was Brazillian or Angolan but not inly he is Portuguese but I’m pretty sure he was born in Porto. Porto is very close Spain, you’re telling me he never heard a Spaniard saying “Puta Madre” before? Maybe Arteta screamed “hijo de puta” which is similar to the portuguese “filho da puta”. It means mf for English speakers.

I'm Portuguese and I despise this dude (most of us do) but to be honest, I can totally see how a Portuguese person would see that as an insult to their mother 😭 That being said, he definitely took advantage of the situation to play the victim. He likes whining after losing a game

@@Lucaz99 I know it looks small on the maps, but Porto is still a long way from the Spanish border... definitely not "very close Spain". And unfortunately that's not how neither culture or language works

@@ninanano What are you on about? It's a shorter trip by train to Vigo than to Lisbon. Of course Sergio Conceição has heard the expression. Not only Sergio Conceição, everyone in Portugal knows "Puta Madre" is just a general insult the Spanish use, often at random shit or not specifically directed at anything. Conceição knows it too. It's definitely in bad faith. He pulls this kind of bs ALL THE TIME.

@@ninanano bro I lived in Portugal, I know the culture and the languages. Neither the culture nor the languages are *THAT* different, -the Portuguese and the Spaniards have been neighbors for many centuries and they were even the same Kingdom for more than half a century.- you know this shit you’re portuguese Besides, Porto is a MASSIVE club with loads of scouts in Spain and Latin America. Conceicao coached several spanish speaking players such as Luiz Diaz, Ivan Marcano, Jesus Corona, Mateus Uribe, Augustin Marchesin, among others. He is a 49 year old ex-player and coach who has worked in Belgium, France, Italy and Portugal. I find it very hard to believe he never heard a Spaniard swear. As for the distance, I guess what you think is very distant and what I think is very different is not the same. For me, if you can get there by bus or car in less than a day, then it’s relatively close. Edit: btw I agree with what you said, I think he definitely faked ignorance to play the victim. I could be wrong but I think it’s unlikely.

On a maybe tangentially related note, my mother who's a professor at Lisbon's University of Physical Education, FMH, did some measurements and evaluations of Portugal's under 21 national team in the late 90's or early 00's and Conceição was one of the players, even after all these years I remember that what she told me about him and the things he said paint a very clear picture of arrogance and inflated ego. In any case, at most he is just as dumb as they come cause he can't even understand spanish which we portuguese do quite well. Portuguese guy here (disclaimer: Sporting supporter, but I think Sérgio is a very good coach). The *mother* something insults are very similar in both languages and, as a Portuguese person even if you speak only basic Spanish, they are very easy to understand. These insults are obviously never aimed at offending someone’s mother. Everyone understands this except the bully at the school backyard who is really just looking for an excuse to punch you, specially if you have something better than him, be it grades, more expensive clothes… or talented players. And Sérgio does really behave like a bully quite often. There are plenty images of him with the same body language, directed at other coaches, refs, journalists, etc. Plus (and I am quite aware this is a very long explanation for such a topic), Sérgio is a great embodiment of FC Porto’s culture. They have been very successful over the past 40 years starting from a place of “us versus them”, “set Lisbon on fire” (think of it as smaller scale Barcelona/Madrid rivalry). Sérgio takes this and makes it like the world is always conspiring against them.
@miguelabreucoelho
@miguelabreucoelho 10 ай бұрын
Saying that Sergio is a great embodiment of FC Porto's culture could only come from either a blind Porto fan, someone from outside Porto or someone who doesn't understand Porto. A lot of us do not identify with his attitude and demeanor and actually believe that he is another one who is tarnishing the TRUE spirit and values of FC Porto. It is true that we have the "us versus them" attitude a lot, but that has a background and a reason. Also, the "set Lisbon on fire" comes from the fact that that city and its clubs have been majorly carried on the shoulders of everyone and helped at every corner for decades. So please, don't pretend you understand Porto's culture nor spread your lopsided vision on it to other parts of the world.
