@@bearboy879 hey there now don't sweat the small stuff 🙂. Being south of the big border I love my Canadian fellow catholics and am holding you in my prayers, 🙏. And no problem at all, because Advent is in a few weeks! A beautiful season and a common Advent theme is light overcoming darkness. And this song drives that point home there in the refrain. Notice that the word Light is the high note in the melody line. So don't be afraid to really bring that out with a strong rhythm there and let the guitar really SING! 😎 And blessings to you for playing for mass, it seems there's a shortage of good guitarists who play for mass so you are blessed indeed🙏

@@bearboy879 hey thanks for the update, sounds like somebody's been practicing. With lent coming maybe I should try doing the same🤔 As for me personally my favourite composers are The Dameans (their names are Gary Ault, Daryl Ducote, Mike Bahloff, and Paul "Buddy" Caesar). Plenty of GREAT guitar stuff and they were so ahead of their time. Especially with the lyrics, these guys were and still are geniuses. The way they use Scripture in their lyrics sometimes requires reading "in between the lines" a little bit but if you are well versed in the liturgy you can see that they are for specific occasions. For example, the Gary Ault song "All that we have" is a great offertory piece for Holy Thursday. Very easy yet so rich in meaning I also suggest looking up the song "Without Clouds" and maybe learning that one. It's absolutely perfect for the feast of the Ascension so there's still a bit of time to learn it 😉. Another great one for Easter (specifically the 3rd Sunday) is "Let All the Earth". That one's from their very 1st album iirc. Fun stuff with very rich lyrics and yet very easy musically. Especially their melody lines. I mean, if even I can sing it, it's got to be no problem for the assembly to learn too😁
