Glory Box - Portishead (Cover by Shell)

(Audio only) This is my cover of Portishead's Glory Box from their Dummy album, 1994. I remember when this came out I was blown away by the whole album. I made this recording by punching in a very simple beat and bassline with GarageBand and using my electric guitar with a few sounds from the GB amp. There are also some vocal overlays in place of the strings intro...we have to make do!

I'm a huge fan of Portishead and feel the same way as yourself about the "Dummy" album ...it totally blew me away back then and is still my goto when I need to chill. It's not often I come across a cover of any Portishead song that I consider worth more than even half a listen to, Beth Gibbons has a truly unique voice that is so hard to replicate, however, not only will I listen to your cover again I may well be adding it to my chillout playlist. Kudos, a truly brilliant performance xx
