It's ridiculous because in hindsight this deserved to be praised by fans way more than it was, but we let her down. Of course, her management didn't let her perform more songs on this album during her Vegas residency like she said she wanted to, but we should've fought harder. We really didn't appreciate 2016-2018 Britney enough when she was serving energy, looks, vocals. She had her spark back but as always people expected too much from her and compared her to her younger self. I truly hope she decides to make another album, because with her creative direction it would be incredible lyrically, vocally, and production-wise.

This Glory era was the brightest moment in her conservatoriship. She came back to life, she was sparkling and more alive than ever, she really worked this album with all of her heart. Before that she was really off, she was literally a zombi, a puppet her father cotrolled. Always quiet and expresionless. From 2008 till the Glory era. Actually she was getting more and more hands on, so the onservatorship put her in the mental clinic becuase she was raising her voice and saying NO, she had lithium injected, this is when the Free Britney started. So they drugged her and made her prissoner in her home untill last year. The albums Femme Fatale and Britney Jean were completely conservatorship. The Femme Fatale tour is painful to watch, she was dead on stage. And she barely recorded Britney Jean. Circus was transitional, the conservstorship was just getting stated. And now Hold Me Closer will be her first freed Britney song.

@allanmhanson
@allanmhanson 2 жыл бұрын
@@npats550 because they decided to give britney artistic freedom for this album. She worked hard on Glory, she even asked their son's opinions to choose the trscklist lol. But in time that artisctic freedom was giving her actual power and she was raising up for herlself. But when they realize her newly gained confidence was an inconvenient for them, then everything was canceled, even the soon to begin Domination show and Britney was put on a mental clinic against hwr will while they told the media Britney was taking a break because her father was really sick and family was first for her. And that's when Free Britney started.

ANOTHER fun fact: the "(By Demand)" part of the title of Mood Ring is there, not because it's in the lyrics, but because fans used the hashtag #JusticeForGlory which let Glory re-enter the iTunes charts and peak at #1, so Britney added it (becuz she re-released Glory in 2020 in which Mood Ring, previously only released in Japan Deluxe, was the lead single [of the re-release]) to acknowledge her fans work.

The standard version has 12 tracks (ends with "What You Need") the deluxe has 17 tracks (ends with "Coupure Électrique) the japan deluxe has "Mood Ring" as the 18 track and the 2020 Deluxe includes the latter and "Swimming in the Stars" and "Matches" as "new" tracks, I think they were demos from that era. I forget there was a "new version" at that time, included "Slumber Party feat. Tinashe" in replace of the original (the label delete that version i think) and the original album cover was a front shoot of her face from the video of "Make Me". I really love this reaction. My fave is "If I'm Dancing".

The circus seems like she was involved. I've read or watched somewhere that she was told if she did Circus the Conservatorship will end and she has, I don't know, custody to her kids. She was pretty motivated to actually perform on Circus album along with concerts. Then you noticed in Femme Fatale she seems bored or not really into it, cuz promises were broken from the previous album. Then Britney Jean happened, you could see she didn't really want to do it.

The reason the album is 20 songs song (without remixes) is because the standard is 1-12, and the deluxe is 13-17, and the Japanese bonus track, “Mood Ring”, is 18, and the two new songs on the deluxe reissue in 2020 are 19 and 20. The album (17 songs / Japan 18) was originally released in 2016!

Im glad you liked it, because this is one of her best albums and my second favorite, and yeah, the only album Britney has not been very involved in is Britney Jean, that album was a disaster because of the discography. But this, with Blackout, Britney and In The Zone are the ones she was more invested in. I always have thought that this album really showcases what Glory means, and even in that conservatorship context, she loved and felt happy while recording this. The voice, the production, this is GLORY, this is the ultimate Britney, and as a B-Army, if she decides to never come back to the industry, I think this is the best way to go. Britney is THE girl, the absolute princess of pop and this shows why This album definitely deserved better, we are sorry Brit!

I only today realised that Glory is actually... a STORY! Let me explain: We have the first song on the album "Invitiation", Britney invites us in it to join the party and have a listen to the album. After that, she actually asks us: "Do You Wanna Come Over?" as in Will you be there at my party? We of course said yes. After we come to the place, she thanks us with "Make me..." where she sings how happy we made her that we came. After that, she rewards us for coming with a "Private Show", after performing for us, she remembered her ex because she did the same thing for him. She then awaits for hers "Man on the Moon" as she wants to get closer to her crush. She then talks to us how she wants the guy to "Just Luv Me". After that we come back to the main area, where actually Britney spills some coffee on her crush (Yes, I got "Toxic" vibes). She apologizes to him, and she deciddes to reward him later. The singer then decided to make the party a "Slumber Party", unluckily she sees in the party her ex with a new girl that looks "Just Like Me"... Spears decided to apologize for the clumsy mistake. She asks her crush what she can do. The man answered: "Love Me Down". When they were kissing, Britney still was thinking how it's "Hard to Forget Ya" meaning her ex. She then discards the thoughts and sings to the crush as she has everything "What You Need". After that, Spears feels much "Better". Then another guy comes up to her saying that he's gonna "Change Your Mind". She just simply replies to him that he's a "Liar". She then takes us to dance on the dancefloor and sings bout how "If I'm Dancing" I'm feeling so much better. When we are dancing a "Coupere Electrique" songs come up (songs from "Blackout"). After all of that she after tells us that her life is a "Mood Ring" and that she actually changed mind, and doesn't like her crush anymore. She tells us that we need to relax and makes go "Swimming in the Stars". Then we come back to the building and start playing with "Matches" and because of them, we unfortunately burn down the house and take it as a symbol of forgetting the bad memories, but it's not stopping us from partying! But after all... we get back to home from Britney, she walks us back to house and gives us an autumn goodbye. But the next day when we wake up we get... another "Invitation"! And that's the whole album! Britney had a huge head here!

One of my all time favorite albums by her, she killed this one. It's very sad it was released during her conservatership because it was very slept on and Britney was rebelling against promoting it. Also, she got her way when it came to making choices on her albums with songs and they let her actually sing like she wanted with this album to trick her into doing the Vegas Residency even longer. Glory is genuinely one of my favorite albums of all time. Britney first started to record it in 2014 and she said she was taking her time and was going in a more rock direction and wanted a lot of “I hate men songs” 😂 which is incredibly ironic because most of the songs are so flighty and about love. The soft, chill, rock sound is definitely heard throughout though! When it came out in 2016 with the original tracks (plus Mood Ring if you had the Japanese version), the album sounded so sonically cohesive with other Top 40 songs/albums at the time (Purpose by Justin Bieber, Dangerous Woman by Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez’s Revival, and anything by The Weeknd). Britney took a lot of creative control with this album and it really showed. To be honest, as her fan during this time, it really seemed like Britney was a much more reserved person than she used to be. Looking back at it, that seems to be how the conservatorship wanted her to come off during Femme Fatale and Britney Jean because when Glory dropped, Britney’s bubbly unique personality SHINED through. She’s just always been this odd, funny, daring individual and this album perfectly showcases that she’s been the same girl all along. She truly sounded more alive during this album than she did with any of the albums created under the conservatorship. Her father was allegedly less involved during the creation of this album. There were constant rumors that Britney was “off her meds” because even her performing took a completely different turn (in the best way possible). Post Free Britney movement we found out she was really rebelling against her handlers and this album really showcases it. When the album first dropped in 2016 the music video/original photoshoot of the album was completely scrapped. Gone were the images of Britney locked in a cage, her house being surveilled, and her laying in the Vegas desert chained to her house. The video/photos were a complete opposite to the Work B**ch video which showcases Britney full of power in the Vegas desert. It made her look more like a prisoner and it was hella bad ass. The album dropped and the music video was reshot and a blurry screenshot was used for the album cover. Fans still loved the music but the image became so much clearer when she rereleased the album in 2020 with edited photos from the original shoot. That’s where we first saw the chains photo and it started to make sense why the original shoot was scrapped. Most fans find themselves divided on the rerelease. I think this is because we never got confirmation that it was actually “Britney” who wanted it. While Swimming In The Stars was from the original Glory sessions (and is one of my personal favorites and I think fits BEAUTIFULLY on the album), Matches was actually an outtake from her scrapped sessions for the follow up album that was meant to debut in 2018/2019. I feel like most fans found the song/overall rerelease to be a last minute cash grab/distraction from her team as the Backstreet Boys revealed the song was actually *never* meant to be a collaboration and they were surprised the song was released with Britney. We never got a comment from her on her thoughts about the track/rerelease. This era in her career really fascinates me with what happened behind the scenes, what could have been, what actually happened, and how it was reintroduced. Regardless, the music is absolutely phenomenal. Lastly, while remixes aren’t necessarily my jam either, the remixes of Mood Ring are stunning and definitely deserve a listen (at least one of them). The vocal outtake they include is absolutely jaw dropping and was a killer way to reintroduce the album (this was the first single they released for the rerelease). “There’s only one bitch….Britney!”

This album is incredible. I still listen to it. It feels somehow the most like who she is outside of her brand. I always liken her baby voice to the paris hilton voice. It's a product. This feels far removed from that and it's nice.

This is the best reaction video I've ever seen in my life, I enjoyed every second of it with every fiber of my body 😉 These are some facts : Unfortunately Glory had only 2 singles : Make Me & Slumber Party, it was really slept on cause it had zero promotion. Just Like Me is not a fan favorite but it's Britney's favorite song on the album, and those guitar riffs were inspired by Tracy Chapman. 4 years later, Britney released Mood Ring as a surprise single to thank her fans for getting justice to Glory and make it #1. The funny thing is that Mood Ring was #1 on iTunes and outsold Lady Gaga's Rain On Me' and the two versions of Sour Candy. It was supposed to be Gaga's day but Britney decided otherwise. That's the power of Queen Britney, a 4 Years old track outshining hot new tracks.

Glory was released in summer of 2016 with a different album cover and ended at Coupure Electrique. Mood Ring was a Japanese bonus track, then later on the label released it “by demand” and then they released a new album cover and a new version of the album that included Moodring, Swimming In The Stars and Matches in 2020
@mr_robaato
@mr_robaato 2 жыл бұрын
You were right about Mood Ring btw! Haha. It was originally a Japan exclusive in 2016 and fans demanded it for years and they finally added it to streaming services/ the 2020 release of the deluxe album.

What I feel sad about Glory is that her fans didn't showed it the love when it was released. Its a brilliant pop record especially considering coming from an artist who was 18 years into her career and had gone through mammoth of life

All the comments here are nice, everyone bringing up the info and fun facts. Britney Army is the best. I feel that Britney is often overlooked in favour of the dramas that have happened in her life over the past 15 years. Due to the way the media have handled Britney as a subject, they've stripped away the 'artist' and made her life a complete circus, stripping away her value as an artist but focusing more on her as a damaged entity. Its sad. This is why her album sales have slowly fizzled away with Glory not seeing the success it deserved. I hope and pray her next foray in to the music industry will be super fruitful and put her back on the map as a major and current artist, because she's not 'damaged goods' anymore, but an empowered woman that has found true power through her freedom.

YES, I LOVE this album! There's maybe 2 or 3 songs that I don't care to listen to again and the rest of them I could dance to all day. I feel like Britney focused all of the right emotions and positivity into producing and singing this album. Songs like "Man on the Moon" are depressing, yet uplifting and hopeful, at the same time. I can just feel the energy flowing and moving through this album. It's perfect for making a workout and chores more enjoyable or for some fun and relaxing mood music, especially in the evening. I have two top things on my pretend bucket list - #1: I am ready for the next Final Fantasy 7 game(s). #2: I pray to God that Britney Spears puts out another album, especially if it's as good as "Glory!"
