It's true but I think the commentator was trying to forecast. Marcus has his hands low and was exiting the clinch repeatedly - Wilnis is a world class counter puncher with lightning speed and thunderous power so it was definitely in the realm of possibility. I thought it was incredibly close but ultimately Wilnis's pressure and the fact that Marcus seemed to be more affected by JWs shots than the other way, that's why the announcer was leaning Wilnis because he saw him winning the fight. It was a tad excessive though since Marcus never got any love for anything. Again, I think it's partly because JW never looked affected by any of the shots SM threw at him and SM looked a bit 🥴 .

Being exhausted doesn't make judges give an opponent the fight but can make the opponent knock you out but he wasn't. Marcus was still landing his kicks and knees. He clearly won the fight.

Exactly you have to control the rounds and the fight and be more busy and effective and use defensive techniques and counters and not just trade punches and rest and then throw 2 punches and rest with little kicking and defense.
