The main melody of The Robot Prince of Auchtertool (the one at the beginning and in the final chorus) originally appeared in the song Maleficus Geminus. At that point in the story, the Robot Prince was more of a secondary character; he debuted and died in the same song! However, thanks to the part of the song about him, he became a fan favorite. Everyone wanted a song to learn more about him, and the creators delivered. This song is straight fire!

Right, to put things into perspective. The Gloryhammer verse has a few insanely powerful weapons and the Knife of Evil is one. If you're stabbed by it, you're evil. No if's no and's and no but's. That knife gets in you and you're a bad guy. The Robot Prince resisting for even a little bit shows that he is INSANELY powerful.

Just to put what @MagicalMaster said into perspective, the then main character of Prince Angus McFife XIII, who fought and defeated the evil wizard Zargothrax across two dimensions couldn't resist the power of the Knife of Evil and sacrificed himself into a volcano rather than turn.

My favourite part of this animation is that despite the cheesiness of the song, the video is so emotional. The Robot Prince liberates Cowdenbeath, where he boops baby Angus on the nose before leaving. Later, the Robot Prince is obviously fighting the influence of the Knife of Evil, and Angus sees his struggle. So what does Angus do? He drops his Hammer of Glory and fights forward, step by gruelling step, and boops him on the nose, and THAT helps the Prince break free of the evil. It's so adorable.

​@georgebeswick7549 Pretty sure Thomas left on his own, if not that then there were disagreements. Apparently like actual drama in the band. Definitely enough for the first ever Angus McSix song to have so many references to Gloryhammer that many could describe it as a metal diss track, but I don't remember the details

​@@dj11o9erThe band has already said it was a unanimous decision to kick him out. While we don't know the full extent, the main reason seems to be that Thomas was just not taking care of his voice(even rejecting the band's offer to hire a vocal coach), which started affecting their live shows.
