The one thing that bothered me about your testing is after the cure time you buffed down the Bead Maker but you didn't buff down the Chemical Brothers side. That extra buff could potentially provide different results especially when it comes to gloss.

Thank you for sharing. I absolutely 🧡 love using bead maker. It’s incredible when I park the car out in the San Francisco misty/overcast weather; the water beads up beautifully and when I drive the water flies right off! I buy bead maker by the gallons. I highly recommend this product. I use it on my car, my family’s cars/suvs/trucks, and friends cars that I help wash. 🙌

As part of the test, please consider taking a baseline gloss reading for the sections of the panel before applying the products. Although you prep the panel uniformly, there may be some inherent difference between the sections. Then when you take gloss readings after applying the product you will know the before and after gloss reading for each section.. Keep up the great videos!

Come on guys. He took multiple readings on sections very close to each other. The inherent differences you guys talk of do not suddenly change where the tape separates the two sections. It was 98/99 on the BM side and suddenly 94 just inches away on the V07 side. That's enough of a proof of performance difference.

Brian, it's been fun watching the slow & steady evolution of your thought process when it comes to Beadmaker. I've watched and have appreciated everything you do since your beginning so I'm coming from a good place when I say this... I cringe everytime I hear ya say, "Beadmaker isn't all that durable." Here in central Florida (Tampa) with our 5 FEET of annual rainfall, Beadmaker has been CRAZY durable for me across the 3 household cars I maintain with it. It holds strong after 30-45 days of no washing and after enduring a foot of rain & traffic film... and I play with a lot of the popula product out there too. I suspect this is because of a couple of things. First, with all the rain we get June - September, our roads stay well rinsed of the harsh chemicals you beat these panels up with. Also, I apply it different, which seems to really make it bite and go on heavy with an easy flash. I water-soak then ring out a rag company edgeless 70/30 420 16" rag, spray the car down panel at a time, and spread the product this way. It flashes without a dry pass, goes on heavy cuz the towel doesn't soak it up, and it hardens thick. Panel to panel, I just ring out the cloth and repeat. Beads stay high and tight after weeks of the most torrential downpours and thick heavy traffic film, followed by baking 200* panels. I could6be more impressed with this product not just because of the above mentioned... but because it applies easier then everything else, gives super high glass, smells great, and is inexpensive. P.S. try it over your beloved Ice Seal and Shine after an overnight cure period. I've been experimenting with this on our outside (no garage car) and holy crap all the way around 👍

I use V07 occasionally as a drying aid definitely get a nice gloss boast but best results I have found come from mixing V07 50/50 with BSD which mix completely homogeneously and never separates back out. Makes a QD that has the longevity of BSD and the gloss and ease of use of V07. One thing's for certain, even V07 straight up doesn't cause gloss to drop like it did for you. Don't know about 3 days later after sitting outside though.

I use a spray gloss enhancer after a wash unless there's a serious chance of rain in the next 24 hours. To me it's just a waste of product. I used to use V7 religiously and then bought a couple of gallons of P&S and an IK sprayer combo kit on a discount code at the Rag Company. I do feel P&S is a better product value and gloss wise. I didn't dislike V7 but just think P&S is just s better product. I also live the northeast part of the US. My cars are relatively new 2017 & 2019 so I can get away with a spray wax every month and like I said a spray gloss after each wash. Longevity is not a big factor in what I use. Great video and videos. I enjoy the honest comparisons and lack of fluff.

You can get both gloss and protection once you figure out which chemicals cross link. Takes a bit of trial and error , sometimes you’ll get one or the other but once you find a 90 day setup for unprepared surfaces you’ll find a 180 day setup after decon and clay. Even some pastes , sprays will work together. Take for instance Fusso Coat soft 99 and Seal and Shine. The same goes for and old school polish “ Liquid Glass “ machined in , and Turtle Wax Black polish , then seal and shine . After it cures you can top with Bead Maker and get plenty of protection and gloss that’s gonna be on their for a good while . Maybe you’ll apply Bead Maker once every couple of months . That’s just a couple of my setups .

Great video 👌 I used v07 on my mustang for the entire year last year at every wash (almost every day or every other day-daily driven even through winter) Application was exactly as you showed I liked it becUse it was very easy to make sure there was no streaking . A big help when washing /drying late at night as I do occasionally. After a single ph neutral soap wipe with a plush mf glove ... it was pretty much gone. I used it as a gloss booster after a wash only. Definitely going to try bead maker 🙌🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I have noticed that bead maker at times does require an additional wipe down after a while as well. I suspect that humidity plays a bit of a role in how beadmaker behaves. I tried vo7 a year ago. I didn't care for that product myself. Chemical Guys does have a number of products I like, vo7 just wasn't one of them. I use both beadmaker and optimum's quick detailer on my semi. Personally, I like the fact that neither product provides much protection. To me it is just a very short term sacrificial layer. Everyone needs to keep in mind that the more layers of different products that you have, the more that the color will become distorted and often time less vibrant.

Just picked up a gallon of bead maker to try, Ive been using other random quick detail sprays with varying degrees of success. Chemical Guys Synthetic quick detailer has been my go to for it's ease of use. Ease of use and gloss are top two properties I look for, followed closely by feel, beading1, and lastly durability. We all know a quick detail spray is just that and durability is only an unexpected bonus :)

It seems that the vo7 side that the paint was much more beat up thus lowering the gloss readings. I am not a pro like you and don’t know if this would affect the order not. I mean with all those extra scratches and bumps and nicksI would think it would. But just another great video. Excellent and fun to watch. I have been staying away from bead maker a bit. Not that I don’t like the results I love the gloss factor. But the protection and the gloss just don’t last long enough. And the gloss fades very quickly for a every day driver. I think it is made more for a show car that you don’t drive every day and you garage and you just take it to your car shows. Thanks again Brian.

So if it doesn’t last 6 months I’m not really worried. Ease of use and shine with slickness are what matters to me= beadmaker a great product. For the wife’s Tahoe that sits in the AZ sun. I have fusso coat that a maintain with bm. The cool thing about bm is that it can be used in top of wax sealant or ceramic coatings. It will add shine and durability to whatever is under it. For protection I care about UV protection. Is there any way for you to test anything for UV rays? If you can find a product that works better than other I will buy immediately

in CA I don’t have haze w/Beadmaker - could be a humidity issue

Could the Bead Maker haze be humidity related? I've been using CSI Q-7 Detailer and spray wax, by visual inspection great gloss, and reasonably durability.

I think a cool video to see would be an AIO vs a polish on a swirled panel given the same time to work. I'd like to see some AIO correction, then chemically abused to see if swirls reappear.

With products like these that essentially won't make it through round one of an APC, it would be helpful to see if they can even make it through a couple of rounds of car shampoo. Also Ice seems to up the shine as much as VO7 but lasts a lot lot longer.

Hey Brian, I'd like to clarify something about Chemical Guys V07. Despite what the label and description of the product says, it has little to no protection and does very little for gloss, but what I've found out about this product since using it for a year, is the amazing drying aid it is. It is hands down the best drying aid I've ever used, no streaks, no residue, and no hassle. It also is a great clay lube and quick interior touch up when used 50/50 with distilled water. It has many other uses and its safe. Just wanted to clear the air about this product.

I found the bead maker durability can build up over time with repeated layering after each wash....I didn't or haven't seen the haze you experienced but what I will say is the paintwork doesn't stay clean or repel dirt/dirty water like say Megs Ultimate quik detailer.... just an observation and don't know why

Being a fellow resident of the North East and knowing the kind of weather we have had the last week or so, I wonder if what you were seeing of the Bead Maker may have been a bit of condensation from humidity sitting on the panel especially if you say it was outside overnight. I have always applied Bead Maker on my car the night before a car event and leave it in the garage and have never noticed any hazing like that.

As a true detailer you should know that purple power leaves a residue. Always in torture test use a plain wet plush microfiber towel to wipe away residues. Can go a step further and do a very quick IPA wipe and most sealants that are decent will spring back to life.

I have also had the haze come up on the panel after curing. Also noticed it doesn't buff off completely when you apply it

Brian, I already own Bead Maker and have a question. You mention in this video how you can use it before you go out or to a show, does this mean you can use it as a quick detailer as well? meaning if I have light dust on the car, I can spray it and wipe it off without scratching my clear coat? I always been little scare to use quick detailer and scratching my clear coat but it would be nice if I can do so... do you have a video on how to use quick detailer that I can use the same technique with the Bead Maker?

What if you dont polish the vehicle but only clay? Would it still be fine to add bead maker to your paint and still have similar results?
