I think a lot of the transformations of "influencers" rely heavily on filters. There is no way on earth some of them are simply using contouring and eyeshadow. The sad thing is they are all starting to look the same.

@Club Retro I am 70 so you're just a young pup to me. We were all so pretty. I remember my mum telling me looks don't last and to find joy in each age. I just brushed her off. Shows you how stoopid I was. 🤪 I am an artist and I have always found older faces so difficult to draw. It is very easy to knock off a young person because there is no depth, nothing written in their faces but an old person has the mysteries of life in their wrinkles. I am sorry you can't find a job. I am retired but sometimes I miss being a part of something bigger than my art table, the backyard, and being my kitty's slave. Please take care and know you are a different kind of pretty now❤

@@plicketyplunk This is so well written and I’m happy to read comments from people who are not 12 years old! 😊 I’m 51 and I was having such a difficult time aging. I was an “Ugly Duckling” until I graduated HS & went into the US Navy. I blossomed and I enjoyed every minute of it… but I had my oldest son & my husband passed away soon after. I went into Law Enforcement when I became a civilian. I enjoyed being the Office’s “Hot Cop”! lol But I got into a very abusive relationship & he rearranged my face. Multiple times. Now my nose is crooked, I have scars & stretch marks, have saggy boobs from breastfeeding 2 awesome young men & I have two granddaughters. They are my battle scars & I wear each “flaw” with pride. I earned all of those & it made me the woman I am today. I met & married my husband and we’ve been together 21 years, raising 4 boys. We both were able to retire at 49 & are living a quiet life with our 2 dogs, a silver lab, Gauge & a Maltese, Pepper. (My hubby is a big man-6’2 & 250 lbs of muscle…he carries the pure white fluff ball Pepper everywhere & people say such cute things everywhere we go.) 😊 I just left the hospital after having 2 strokes & heart failure. I’m having troubles but I think I’ll be ok. I’ve weathered many battles; it’s just another step in life. I truly wish everyone well. Please take care of yourselves. Beauty fades but your character is what you take when you leave. Much love! 🤍 -L~

Honestly if I feel like I have achieved anything as a mother, it’s that my daughter rocks her natural beauty. My 16 year old daughter has beautiful skin and hair and does minimal stuff to it. She rarely wears any makeup and usually wears her African hair natural. I love that she loves her natural self and doesn’t think she has to alter her appearance to be beautiful. Totally agreed! That is what I was thinking, it's actually what I think every time I watch videos like this, if you can't be physically beautiful, without either a ton of makeup and or cosmetic surgery, then your not just fooling everyone else, but your fooling yourself too, and eventually it will all catch up to you! Just be happy with yourself the way you are, as far as romance goes, I find friends to be better then any romantic partners, just try to love yourself the way you are and stop worrying about appearance and vanity, it won't make you happy in the end! The worst part about these people like this, is they keep it going and going, influencing young people into wasting money on makeup and plastic surgery, and some have even killed themselves, having stuff done by someone who didn't really know what they were doing or was purposely using cheap stuff, so the person died of an infection, this has happened a lot too! But we rarely hear about those cases!

The thing about this show Swan is, those women were pure tortured. Most were not even finished healing before they did their reveal. Many found themselves in worse position than prior. Not all the surgeries took the way they should have and left many women with ailments they had to care for long after the show was over.

@Itried20takennames

It is a terrible show, but what you are saying isn’t true. First it wasn’t pure torture…if you were kidnapped by Nazi, North Korea, etc and the Guard said “I will let you pick…we torture you like normal, or you get a nose job and tummy tuck like on the Swan,” …..not a hard choice. Plus their just isn’t much evidence for the surgeries causing lifelong ailments. We all like to blame illness on one-time, unfamiliar events (like people who got fat because a spider bit them, not age and overeating) , and factors outside of us (once heavy heard a smoker with emphysema in their 60s who was sure it wasn’t from the 45 years of smoking, but from her working one summer on her 20s at a shoe factory.). If you mean breast implants…many impartial studies have compared women who did/didn’t get implants, then see how many get sick in 5 to 15 years….it was pretty much the same, and besides fibrosis capsules (which is a normal immune reaction) there isn’t a consistent increase in any one particular illness with implants.

Men and/or women seeking a partner should watch videos like this. What you see isn't always what you get. Imagine meeting one of these women in a club when they have on all the makeup and wigs or hair styles, going home with them for a fun evening. Next morning after she gets out of the shower she looks like her natural self and you freak out because you don't recognize her. People need to see each other in their natural 'beauty' before they jump to conclusions.

I totally agree with you. People are quick to assume that, that girl or even some males that put on makeup to get rid of something or to change everything about themselves go out and people feel suddenly attractive and well go and have some fun. To me I would feel ashamed if I were to wear that much makeup, go out, and then have someone fall head over heels to me all because I look "More attractive" then I would have with my natural beauty. It sadness me that this world came to relying on lies and just telling the world your natural beauty isn't "good" enough. Have to fake it to make it. And it's sad.

I would never fat-shame anyone nor stand by if anyone else did it. If someone is comfortable with extra pounds and they're happy, that's fine. But, it's true-- especially as you get older. Carrying excess weight is just not good for you. It puts a lot of extra stress on the body. Many times, when you're younger, you're body is strong enough to cope with it. But it can cause a whole world of trouble as you age. I was overweight and was resigned to it in my mid-40's. Then, when I was 48, I started having all sorts of problems with my whole digestive system. At this point, I've had just about everything that can go wrong with my gut -- from my teeth and esophagus all the way to the other end -- go wrong. And, I now know, it all had to do with poor eating habits. I eat like I've never eaten before: fruit, veggies and fish. Those are my stables. Notice anything missing? Yeah, I can't eat starches or fats at all anymore. When I do, I get so sick, I can't even function. I also lost over 80 lbs. though I hardly credit it with self-control. Mostly, it hurts too much to eat anything starchy or fatty. And I spend a lot of time trying my best NOT to become a stick-figure. But it's a challenge. So take a lesson from me. Eat right. Oh, and bonus? You get LOTS of wrinkles over night when you lose weight at my age. So there's that.

Give me a break, most of those “glow ups” that claimed to be the result of makeup artistry are CLEARLY achieved with various photo filters (which EVERYONE of these “influencers” do on social media). Makeup alone does not smooth out super bumpy skin or eradicate those double (or triple!) chins. It can not change the structure of your face (contouring helps, but doesn’t make the sort of difference that’s being shown here). This is all photo filter BS, it’s a total lie, and should not be counted as a true “glow up”!
@gmunoz9008

And to top it off, they claim that everyone is beautiful with or without makeup, but they force the narrative of being less visually-pleasing (makeup, messing up their hair, and wearing baggy old clothes to become "uglier"), and then layers of makeup and other cosmetics to become more "visually-pleasing." If one is truly embracing of their inner (and outer) beauty, then become VIRAL in your own skin. NOT layers of makeup and filters that make you look like a completely different person instead of your self. Although I am all for embracing who you are, with or without the makeup - state THAT. Rather than making yourself "uglier" and then, adding makeup to "prove" you can be pretty, but saying you are beautiful either way...

Do you think she had something done to her face, or perhaps filters? I remember when she was big, and I also remember when she lost a bunch of weight, and was slim and toned. But when she was slim and toned, she still had kind of a big jaw, and cheeks. I thought she was very attractive still, but now I’m wondering how she got her face so slim. Some of those pics are unrecognizable.

@@n0gginb0nker87 I personally couldn't tell. For me she doesn't look unnatural in her face. If(!) she had anything done, then it was done good. The face is one of the first areas where you get slim when you lose weight. And with makeup and contouring you can really make your cheeks look slimmer than they are. I'm not judging people for doing plastic surgery. It doesn't harm other people and if it makes them happy, then why not? If she now feels more confident the way she looks, then I'm happy for her.

I am going to be downvoted into oblivion here, however, these "make-overs and make-unders" have more to do with filters than anything else. The smooth skin in the latter half of the video is absolutely unattainable in real life. While makeup can help to some degree....let's be honest...everyone has pores and flaws. Expecting anything even close to this is a fever-dream and people need to realize what true beauty is. It has nothing to do with unrealistic outward appearances.
