Thats amazing getting an old boiler like that up and running again.

Nice one Derek... Glow worm boilers were our weapon of choice back in the day , the Micron and ultimate were basically the same boiler and we loved the micron as it would fit in a kitchen cupboard , I think the only repairs I had to do on these was replace the fan’s after a few years of good service due to the bearings over heating , other than that no problems with them... 👍

We still have an Ultimate 100FF running the central heating in our house... any reason I should be looking to replace it?

I have Micron 50FF and would like to replace the radiators. Everyone says you might need to add pressure to the boiler but I assume this doesn’t apply to this boiler as I can’t see any pressure gauge?

Don’t see many of these out there now, I have a dim and distant memory of fitting one around 2001/2002 ish. Cast iron boilers were built like tanks and would probably run forever with a little tlc every year.

That boiler looks so much less fragile than a modern condensing boiler
