Halo 2 Anniversary has now been added to the Master Chief Collection on PC! It looks amazing, as expected. We've done this game many times, but well, true 4K 60 frames per second on PC is hard to pass up. As always, we used relevant gameplay, important dialogue and all cutscenes to stitch together a fluid cinematic experience. We hope you enjoy!

@Joshua Payne No, he is actually somewhat right. That's why halo 2 ended on the cliff hanger it did. Which mind you, a lot of people complained about halo 2 at first because of a lot of things other than that, the covenant speaking English being another example. Luckily, it aged like whine.

Brief summary. After the events of the first Halo, Johnson met up with Cortana and Master chief on the longsword they escaped from the Pillar of Autumn. Seeing Pvt. Jenkin's video cam footage, Chief drew Johnson's pistol and pointed it at his head. Johnson held no objection, but stated that he was fine and wasn't infected. It was a very tense situation, until Cortana intervened and convinced chief that he was still human. They later made contact with Dr. Halsey, she and Chief were looking at Sgt. Johnson's medical files. It was said that he did carry flood dna in his blood, but was dormant and non-infectious. Halsey also confirmed that Johnson had gained some unique regenerative abilities during their first contact with the infection forms. Halsey prepared two separated documents so that ONI could review, Halsey gave Chief the decision to make. That's why Johnson says that it's classified.

I really like how the cutscenes show the technological difference between the covenant and the unsc in terms of starship engine sounds 1:48 the covenant starships engine sound vary smooth and sleek whilst in 4:09 the unsc ship sound rough and heavy P.S 4:09 now that’s how a starships Engine should sound Love halo ships

This has always been my favourite of the Halo games, and I never understood why people didn't like it as much as others. Yes the first one has the great twist with the flood and the immense terror behind their reveal. But Halo 2 opened up the Halo universe, it breathed life and character into the covenant, as well as the flood. The game itself was such a pleasure to play too, from boarding a vehicle for the first time, and dual wielding to exploring some gorgeous settings. It remains the longest of all the Halo games too with more missions than any other, and I can't honestly recall a single one where I grew bored. It was thrilling from start to finish. Near as I can tell, peoples main complaint about it was playing occasionally as the Arbiter rather than the Masterchief the whole time, but I loved being able to play as one of the sanghelli and seeing it all from another perspective. Narratively this was the strongest of the Halo's, it was well paced, and made it more than being about shooting generic evil aliens. It developed this series so much, incorporating all the lore from the books into it. This is the best Halo game in my opinion, and the one I played by far the most.

That still wouldn’t have passed with the Elites, when the Covenant was formed the Sangheili and San Shyuum were equal partners of their Alliance. The San Shyuum were in charge of science and religion while the Sangheili were in charge of Military and resource management. So what the Prophets are doing are in contradiction to their long held agreements. Also the Covenant is a thousand year old faction while the Brutes have only been around 30 years before the war with Humanity, so stripping power from the Elites and giving to the Brutes was nothing short of an insult and suspicious.

Halo 2 is the only FPS I've seen that doesn't have camera bob... jesus christ HALO 1 HAS IT, I just played it on PC with game pass and it has camera bob.. but Halo 2 doesn't. @@Hathur Halo CE doesn't have the "Camera Bob" either, the weapon moves from side to side (The assault rifle in particular) to illustrate the fact that master chief is moving and while still the weapon moves up and down to represent breathing. But that side to side movement of the weapon wouldn't make any sense since that would mean your aim is all over the place (not that it would matter much with the AR since it has so much spread). Halo 2 is actually a bit better in this regard since you would take shorter more "stable" steps to account for the movement of the gun while walking to keep a consistent aims at all times, but there is still a bit of shake in the gun, which is represented. Although your point is true that camera bob is absent, not every game needs that. Also Halo 2 and Halo combat evolved were meant to be played on consoles and so the camera movement was a bit more stabilized since aiming with the joystick wasn't really mainstream or popular at the time so it would prove difficult to aim with all that camera bob while using the joystick, especially with the duke controller. (btw, I think I'm missing out on some context here regarding @Mr.Tweezy007, what happened?)

I love the fact that Humanity fucked up an ill prepared Covenant when The Solemn Penance was the only ship to escape Earth intact to Delta Halo. Operation: BUMRUSH would have succeeded if the AI aboard the Ascendant Justice didn't beam back Cortana's in atmosphere Slipspace jump trick during Halo First Strike. The Great Schism may have happened sooner seeing a Prophet captured alive and Humanity capturing the Solemn Penance when it would not have a way out with all the heavy UNSC warships closing in and Earth's ODP network having Regret's ship in their sights. It could have been very demoralizing for the Covenant to see a Prophet captured alive and tortured as a message that Humanity has had enough. The Covenant could have been further demoralized when Operation: SUNSPEAR would mass scatter Glyke killing billions to avenge the billions of Humans killed during the war on top of broadcasting Regret's torture by ONI.

Earth builds all those cannons, says in the first cutscenes how they are super safe. First attack of the covenant ever and most of them blow up. Wow great defense architecture earth. Also, no battleships to shoot down the ships that dock to the cannons to set up the bombs. 10/10 writing
