Thanks for getting this out quickly and the always entertaining, informative reviews. I, like many, agree with your assessment that their biggest misstep seems to be the chosen handles for the standard width. It's unclear why they didn't leave the overall width of the bar the same, but include the narrow (i.e. normal/typical) handles as standard. You'd still get the option to go for wider grips but without turning off many people that we're having to wait for the extra handle options and spend more to get them. It's still a bar I intend to add, I just don't understand that decision. Cheers

I wish they would come up with non-rackable sleeves to replace or as an option instead of just the rackable ones on the open trap. I don’t have much room in my home gym. I think that if you Conventional deadlift with a Barbell or with the high handles on the Trap bar, your back angle will be similar. You'll bend over more because of the wider grip, so it might be basically the same exercise for most people, but the additional benefit of extra upper back work

In a year or two when all the options are sorted out I suspect this will be the best value in open trap bars, especially for home gym users. But it feels like they rushed a bit to get this to market. I was going to get one of these until I realized just how wide it is. I'm not sure what image was more disturbing - watching you floor benching with the bar following a direct path over your face (wow - lol )or you doing bench presses with a thumbless grip with a bar that has zero gnarling ( do we need to do an intervention with you ? )I bought the Eleiko Oppen deadlift bar a year ago because cutting up my shins while deadlifting twice a week was becoming a point of discussion when I wore shorts BUT the problem with it is the handles and that is the same issue with the pre-existing similar bars as you mentioned . We have different arm length and body width - that isn't an issue when using a barbell as we simple move our hands according but with a fixed grip open deadlift bar -we must conform to the bar restrictions .. The best open trap bar will be the one that has EASILY adjustable handles to be moved in and out depending on the user and also two sets of handles ,one high and low so you can flip the bar if you want to start the deadlift lower or higher . As far as all its other uses - we seem to try to re-invent the wheel it seems .. Using the bar for neutral grip exercises is fine I guess but don't we use dumbbells for that purpose ? It can do so much -but can it core an apple ??

Thanks for all the effort you put into in making these videos!
@Alex_Piazza2 жыл бұрын
I had thought about a PRX when I was designing my gym but ultimately decided against it. The single biggest question I think you have to ask yourself is do you require the ability to fold away? and will you actually utilize that? And I truly mean think hard about it. If yes, then I don't think there is a better option for fold away. the rogue/titan style is more work and can be weird to setup with a slope floor of a garage. If the answer is no, the rogue/titan are cheaper and one time set and forget makes it worth the savings. I do think for about the same price you can setup a half rack that just has more overall functionality over the wall mount. Just my 2 cents.
