Gluck's going to be tying in the "cut bumper plates in half" video for the next few years to help justify the cost. I originally bought my Fringe Sport standard bumpers at your suggestion in one of your earlier weight plate videos, and I have no regrets!

Great video! One thing I'd not when thinking about coated plates is that, with a few years and if the coating is of a lower quality, it can rip/break apart. I have some plates in my gym which lost the coating (either partially or totally), and while they're on that stage where the coating is starting to really break apart, it can have sharp edges on the rubber that cuts your fingers, it has an irregular surface so it causes problems deadlifting and so on. If you're buying coated plates, make sure the coating is high quality and will last a long time

Anyone else thinks the CAPs 17:46 have become classics? Seeing those weird shapes, the cheap looking coating and being around for decades gave them some sort of appeal.

Informative and entertaining video. I have Strength Co. iron plates and American Barbell Urethane Olympic Grip plates for my home gym. The American Barbell Urethane grip plates were not shown in this video, but while they are a little pricey, they are beautiful and well made plates. If you are going for urethane coated grip plates, they are probably the best out there. The Strength Co. plates are also in a class of their own.

I heard from distributor in my country that calibrated plates are mostly made in 2 or 3 fabriques in China so they are practically the same. That's why most of them cost pretty similiar too.
