I never would have thought that super glue was safe to use in an aquarium. I have used a putty type glue made for aquarium use but didn't have a lot of luck with it. Now I have a new tool. Thanks Jurijs!

Thanks for the tip! I didn't have cigarette filters so I pulled apart layers of facial cleaning pads (of course absent of any additional products/chemicals). It worked great ! I love innovative solutions to annoying problems!!! Many thanks from me and my dwarf puffer, no tumbling tower for him :)!

I used some old brown socks instead of the filters. They worked perfectly and they also blended a lot better than the white filters.

I've seen aquarists suggest this without warning against the heat produced by the chemical reaction (which can burn), or the smoke/gas released (which contains cyanide). It's a neat tip, just be careful. For those wondering his this happens: cyanoacrylate (superglue) cures by reacting with water, even just moisture in the air. Cotton-like materials hold moisture. That moisture coming into contact with superglue forces a lot of curing in a very short amount of time, producing heat. In addition to that, the plastic fibers in the cig filter attaches to both sides of stone, creating a better bond by going into pores and cracks superglue can't get into by itself.

Super glue with isopropyl alcohol can be use to fill up gaps between rocks. Just place a few drops of gel CA and then spray an alkohol and wait until evaporate. Then repeat process until gap will be filled up.

Have you tried the SUPERGLUE & BAKING Power/Soda method? The baking powder can be mixed with dry crushed stone to match the surrounding rocks! This dries really quick and is as hard as rock if not harder, there's loads of videos on KZbin of people using this method!

Actually it should work with any type super glue, liquid is best as it soaks up quickly into the filler material and bonds faster. But you never know, simply try a different one

I would like to add that using superglue on wet plants or hardscape usually takes longer to dry and does not stick as good when everything is dry or at least not soaking wet.

Tobacconist shops or online. My grandmother’s friend used to have a little machine to roll and stuff her own cigarettes. Not like rollies, thicker, like commercial cigarettes. So in some places they are still sold for that, I guess but it may depend on your country - It’s still surprisingly acceptable to smoke in Germany compared to UK or US, so there are still specialist shops. In the uk i live in a City of 200 000 people and know of only two tobacconist shops. 😆

Hi, just wondering what glue would be similar to this in Australia if anyone knows please. As I have done my research(so I thought) and purchased a super glue with cyanoacrylate as first ingredient, forms first attempt to be an epic fail and rocks to be able to be pulled apart and also did not see any smoke! Cyanoacrylate yes, liquid type. It takes some time before you can see the smoke. Try using cotton pads or little chunks of toilet paper instead of cigarette filter
