Stop eating gluten. Take vitamin b and magnesium. Magnesium so important for brain. Also push for a sleep apnoea test as well

This came just at the right time, I’m celiac and I experienced dizziness and was off balance once again today. It doesn’t happen often , however I’m glad I know it’s celiac related. Thank you ,great video.

I ended up in emergency. Crazy symptoms. It was hard to even use my phone. Mri, 2 ct scans and no answers. Stopped gluten, take l-glutamine.. and have recovered. BTW stop all gluten free grains as well if you have any intestinal pain. L-glutamine speeds recovery.. quite amazing

Great video but the big unanswered question, how to heal the damaged gut? Just stopping the gluten, dairy and nightshades doesn't seem to allow the gut to heal

I was diagnosed in 2002 with "Borderline Multiple sclerosis" I was told by my PA in 2017 when I was dealing with as she said "Ataxia" I did and was fine within 3 months... When I was diagnosed with Borderline MS the neurologist asked if I were, stressed and with that, he did a lumbar puncture which came back negative for MS and lyme disease... I haven't eaten a good foods since 2016; fast food, junk food's and I feel worst than I have ever felt... As I write I know what I should be doing for me.. Healthier Eating Habits 😔

I have gluten ataxia and coeliac disease . Was diagnosed after being ill after Pfizer vaccine so in a way the jab saved my life ,my neurologist is a leading expert In Sheffield U.K Professor Hadjivassiliou . I’m so lucky . My speech and coordination was deteriorating and had been told I had IBS for 15 years .Had been under ENT for dizziness but they obviously found nothing . Been gluten free six months and brain fog is better ,I’ve stopped stumbling around . Luckily I was diagnosed before too much long term damage was done , the mri spectroscopy showed minimal damage . Some of the poor people his clinic that have had it years before diagnosis 🥺. I’m so lucky to have Proff Hadjivassiliou he has changed and saved my quality of life ,he’s a lovely man too

@karennuttall7059 I can comment having gone through this a few years ago. Go 100% gluten free and even avoid any non gluten grains if any digestive issues for a while. Take l-glutamine.. it's incredible for recovery. I have no symptoms now. I was really bad.

At the same time the nerves of my hips and sciatica go nuts . I've been having these problem for years and they disappear if i stick on the diet . The symptoms i have are the same as the ones described for gluten ataxia .i think my diagnosis is right because i 've had years to study the situation . Hopefully i gave some valid infos

Thank you for sharing these studies. I was diagnosed with gluten sensitivity 6 years ago. I had problems with balance and had to use a handrail to walk up and down stairs. Along with trouble speaking, major brain fog and several other life long symptoms. These symptoms largely disappeared after a gluten free diet was begun. Two of my grown children are experiencing similar issues. What can they do, to obtain a diagnosis? Have lab tests improved to diagnose this problem?
@gatesbrainhealth2639
@gatesbrainhealth2639 3 жыл бұрын
Lab tests are not perfect, but they are definitely a start. Also, the world's foremost researcher on gluten and neurological disorders Dr. Hadjivassiliou has commented that the high value for gliadin antibodies I believe should be 7 rather than the typical 19 or 20 which most labs go by.

@@gatesbrainhealth2639 Thank you 👍. I just listened to a Dr. Hadjiv presentation. A gluten free diet was suggested by my brilliant psychiatrist, Dr Jain Syed. Many of my symptoms have resolved or have improved significantly. Most important my chronic fatigue melted away after 10-12 weeks with complete resolution within 1 year. My balance has improved 80%. In yoga class, I have obvious deficits at 6 years GF. My memory has greatly improved. At 61 dementia has been diagnosed and I now take RX medication. I credit my psychiatrist with saving my life. A GF diet has had a Major positive impact on my health, and the symptoms I’ve had since early childhood.

@@karennuttall7059 yes, according to my journal, I’m still improving. Last April, I greatly reduced sugar in my diet. No fruit, just added sugar. Huge benefits began in a few days! Balance and neurological benefits are noticeable. Reducing inflammation in the brain is my key.

I now have PPMS, and lesions on brain stem and spinal cord. I present with ataxia essentially and lately I’m wondering how much of my disease is gluten related. Not show white matter lesions. Today is day 11 of no gluten, no dairy, sugar or grains… or legumes or nightshades, soy… in 11 days almost all my neuralgia is gone, arthritis and joint flame significantly reduced. It’s so hopeful… I just don’t want to be quadriplegic, totally wasn’t expecting neuralgia and joint pain to drop so much, and so quickly. PS-A spinal tap was never performed on me. My sister and cousin havd MS, so they just took that as MS. And I definitely think I have MS lol but gluten was definitely involved in its creation.

Thank you Dr gates, I am diagnosed with celiac disease sinds 1994, and now 6 months struggling with gait, balans and other neurological symptoms. Could that be gluten ataxia? (I do sometimes get a tiny bit of gluten in my system) Thank you for your time

Possibly, but with these symptoms it is always important to make sure you seek attention from the ER if they are acute symptoms or a neurologist if the symptoms are chronic to rule out other causes.
