Yeah they are not easy to use. I think Casio has recognised this as an ongoing problem. Things have improved slightly in more recent products.

@@boimesa8190 "haha damm" ? Casio PX5S has an official editor for Windows (Mac?) and I personally have no idea what is 'wrong' with this data editor - its design is 'technical', logical and 'functional', including e.g. graphical display of envelopes etc. Maybe this is not what nowadays "I want to power-click on pretty icons"-user wants - but the true problem for many is the huge parameter range of PX which corresponds to a workstation

Thanks for your message, DM :) No it wasn't all that hard, you can get these sounds from the official Casio forum, you just save them to a USB and then plug it into the keyboard and choose the sounds you want. /gf

Yeah it was good right! That's the first preset when you install the expansion pack, so I can't take credit for it. Some Casio tech probably spent hours creating that one.

When I set the equalizers to the maximum the sound of the instruments the sound quality is distorted and makes noise interference. Why is it? Should I configure something so that this does not happen? when recording to a pendrive, the same thing also happens
@gearfacts4 жыл бұрын
EQ to maximum would raise the volume to clipping point, that's the reason for the distortion. Maybe try cutting the frequencies you don't want instead of boosting the frequencies that you do want.

Hmmm... a synth disguised as a digital piano... interesting stuff... Is this one less or more powerful than the PX560, I wonder...?
@gearfacts5 жыл бұрын
I think the 560 is a newer model ...I think. I guess we should look at the specs. On a related note, the screen on the 560 is nice and big, clearly similar if not the same as the MZ-X300. It looks impressive, but the system is actually harder to navigate than the PX5S which is refreshingly logical. So that's something I'd be really wary of before forking out a grand for a PX560. Of course you'd have to weigh up all the other specs as well... sigh...!
@HubertEtAlice5 жыл бұрын
Gearfacts Yes, the coloured touch screen is appealing. Well, it always gets to the same point: go to a music shop and try it for yourself 😉

After doing some research I bought the PX5S second hand for 500, it doesn't have internal speakers or the big screen but it can do so much more than the PX560, check this link: casiomusicgear.wordpress.com/2016/01/11/the-definitive-px-5s-vs-px-560-comparison/

Hi can ask you something : Do I need a 2x XLR-M to jack unbalanced or balanced for a connection to my recording device with 2 XLR inputs? I have a Nagra device with 2 XLR. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR LETTING ME KNOW! 😊
@gearfacts4 жыл бұрын
It depends what you're trying to achieve. If you are recording an active source (synth, guitar with active pickups etc), then unbalanced. If the source is passive (guitar with passive pickups on a non-powered mic) then choose balanced. That's my understanding anyway, I am open to being corrected :)

@@gearfacts Thanks for your quick reply but : I just want to record the piano and other samples / sounds from the casio to my recording device. Now I record via USB stick (casio) , but since I have a high-quality standalone recording device I want to connect the casio to this so that the recording goes through my recording device. What do you think? Balanced or unbalanced? Can you send me a link of the type of cable that I need? I would be very grateful to you :) I'm a a classical pianist but it's my first digital Stage Piano...

Franco, most synths are unbalanced outputs, with a few notable exceptions like the Novation Peak. The manual should tell you, usually in the specifications section of any synth manual. FYI, balanced cables are needed on devices with very low level outputs, as RF interference can overpower the signal from the instrument, which a balanced cable eliminates. Synths have a high output voltage, so although they can use balanced outputs (and some do), they don't need them as much as they're less prone to environmental RF interference.

Very Jarre-ish. Soundwise I consider this to be some sort of April joke (with an upload time delay). I was wondering why you didn't put a link underneath your video. I went searching for a download link for these patches at www.casiomusicgear.com ...but I couldn't find one.
